What Apps Are You Using to Practice?
I’m curious, what apps are actually helping you improve right now (other than a basic tuner and metronome app)? Drop the name of the app + how you use it in your practice routine. Bonus: If you’ve tried a bunch and found one you don’t recommend, tell us why!

I use iRealPro for pop and jazz practice. I'm still learning its full feature set, but writing my own charts, changing tempo and key, and looking at chord-scale options are a few of its capabilities that I enjoy. I'm getting started using Tonic. For me it's mainly a time-keeping and accountability tool. I could do my own timekeeping and be more disciplined on my own without Tonic, like I did in college, but here we are. In Tonic I will "open my studio" when I start practicing and (for example) I'll declare my intention to practice long tones, then scales & arpeggios, then a specific piece. For timekeeping, Tonic starts counting time when I "open my studio" so that's simple. For accountability, I mainly need help staying on task. When I get started, my studio has a llittle banner that shows "Kaleem is practicing long tones," or whatever task I have declared that I'm working on. My fear of a listener joining and hearing me noodling on something else, not playing long tones as advertised, helps keep from getting sidetracked.
Hubert Laws One of One
Did I brag about adjusting all of Hubert Laws' flute’s in his breath taking home in Beverly Hills lately? I still can't get over it Hubert..

My hero! I saw him in DC last fall, got a nice autograph, and had a little chat. What a delight!
