Wax melter finnished!
Out of the glaze fire! Cone 6 , (stupidly left a test tile in the dish for the firing .. hahah but then manage to break it out Hight of it is brilliant I’d say I’ve made the bowl part a bit too big and holds too much wax. But the whole thing is holding up well to heat!

Ryan Etere this looks great.
How do you sign your pots?
For the first time in 9 years I'm changing the stamp that I use for my "maker's mark" It feels a bit strange but I'm excited to have an official Clay with Trey stamp. The change got my wondering how you guys sign your pots? Is it your name or a symbol? Do you carve it or stamp it?

I had a friend make a rubber stamp with a wooden handle for me. It’s my first name signature. It works great on larger pieces - mugs, bowls, plates but I need a smaller version.
Live Class and Discussion
Hey yall! Our first live class will be very soon, but my original plan to do it Tuesday the 27th unfortunately has fallen through. One of my high school students nominated me for “teacher of the game” at his basketball game that night and I’m going to go and support him (and get a free t shirt haha). So sorry to mess things up but I think I’ll be able to get one on the calendar soon, and I think our friends across the pond will be able to join in too if possible! Until then- I hate the name “live class”. Any ideas on what we should call it? My hope is to chat and have some demo stuff and do some Q and A type of things. So help me out- It needs a better name!

Congrats! That’s a pretty special honor. How about “The Convo” or Clay Convo. Convocation seems too long 🤷‍♀️
What pots do you use the most?
I love making functional work, and I really love getting to use it. I’m working on replacing some of our boring household wares with some handmade stuff and I was wondering what pots you get the most use out of?

@Rachel Ingutti this is beautiful!
Where do you work with clay?
I have two places I can work with clay- either at work(high school ceramics teacher) or at home in my shed/studio. Right now I greatly prefer the school studio because it’s warmer and not in complete shambles. At home I’ve got one broken wheel, a huge mess from painting and renovating, and a max temp of about 60 degrees. At school, there’s a pug mill, great lighting and, just a lot less hassle. We’re on our third snow day in a row so I’ve got to go out to the old shed and warm things up to get some things done and it had me wondering what your space is like. Give us the good and the bad!

I am a member at an amazing community studio and I have access to the community college studio since I teach there. Both spaces are well equipped. I enjoy the community of people at both places. I have a small space at home ( in progress) for handbuilding.
