Beginnings
Just finished a basic tank top. This is the first complete garment I’ve made in many years. It’s not perfect, but I’m pleased with it and with my effort.

@Margie Vaudreuil Thanks. I didn’t use stay tape. I watched a video on how to fold and sew the bias tape. Worked like a charm. I just downloaded and taped the pattern for wide leg draw string pants with a zipper and pockets (pattern in the sampler). I’ll be buying some fabric tomorrow. Hoping to find some chambray.
Starting again
Back in college I made most of my clothes then stopped doing it while raising a family and working full time. Since I’m only 5’ tall, I have to alter almost all my clothes and recently had a “duh” moment when I realized I’d be better off going back to sewing my clothes right from the beginning.

🚪✨ Doors Opening and Set Up for Saturday Studio: Creative Explorations
Tomorrow morning at 9:30am EDT I'll be in my design studio setting up for our first day of Creative Explorations. Every Saturday while you wait for our live call I'll be experimenting, discovering, and sharing from my studio. Next Saturday — our very first Creative Exploration. I'm taking a look at a material that has been sitting on my shelf for a year. It's called Fosshape — and it does something extraordinary. Apply heat and it transforms into a rigid, perfectly shaped structure. No water. No wire. No messy adhesives. Just heat and imagination. Hats, masks, bodices, headpieces — anything you want to hold a shape permanently and beautifully. 🎩✨ Doors are officially opening. Stay tuned. Margie 🧵 Artists are not know for the left two, but artist, Marte LaConte crafted the elaborate crown and staff on the right.

I live in NYC and I travel a lot. I’ve spent my life doing alterations since I’m only 5’ tall and and have started to make my clothes again.
