I never thought I'd love this, but here I am 😄
Happy Thursday! I want to keep things light today and get to know you a little better. What's something you never thought you'd enjoy that you absolutely love now? This season of life has a funny way of surprising us, we finally have a bit of space to try things and suddenly there's a whole new side of us showing up. I love that so much. 👉Vote below and then tell me your thing in the comments, the more surprising the better. I'll go first 👇

☕ Let's Talk: Selfish or Finally Choosing Yourself?
Here's something I'd love to hear your thoughts on. Why is it that when a woman reaches a certain stage in life and starts putting herself first, she can suddenly be seen as selfish? For years, many of us have been the ones making sure everyone else is okay. We adjust our plans, put our own needs aside and keep everything running. But what happens when we start saying no? When we want more time for ourselves, or decide we don't want to do things just because everyone expects us to? Some people might call that selfish. Others might call it growth. 🌟So, here's my question: Do you think women become more selfish in midlife, or do we simply become less willing to put ourselves last? 🌟Have you experienced this yourself, or do you see it differently? I'd really love to hear your opinions and experiences. Even if we don't all agree, I think this is a conversation worth having. 🤎

I don’t think women become more selfish in midlife. I think we wake up. ❤️ We start realizing how long we’ve been putting everyone else first, and how empty our own well has become. And the funny thing is, you can love your partner, love your life, and still want more. More joy, more freedom, more adventure, more time for yourself. But then comes the guilt, as if wanting something more means we’re ungrateful for what we already have. I think we need spaces like this where women can come together and remind one another that there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting more from life. We spend so much time worrying about disappointing others that we forget we can disappoint ourselves, too. There are plenty of people who pursue what they want without apologizing for it. Why shouldn't we? Maybe midlife isn't about becoming selfish. Maybe it's about finally giving ourselves permission to live, too. ❤️
One Saturday, any age, you choose 😄
If I could spend one Saturday at any age it would absolutely be 25 😄 That was the age I felt unstoppable. I had just had my first baby, we had our own house, we'd been married five years, and I was old enough for the older adults to take me seriously but still young enough to hang out with the younger ones. 😉Vote in the poll to pick your age, 👉then tell me in the comments why you chose it and what you'd do with your Saturday. Enjoy your day 🌷

Early 30s when I was single and before I married my second husband who I left, then married a third time. I love my husband but I often think about the simplicity of my life in my early 30s. I was not loaded, but I had a good job, a car, no debt and freedom.
Why is it so hard to slow down? ☕
Have you ever noticed how hard it is to just sit down and do nothing? I think of it like a backpack. Over the years we keep adding to it. The school runs, the meals, work, our parents, our partner, remembering everyone's birthdays. And then the heavier things too. Losing a parent, a marriage ending, illness, trauma, the hard seasons we just had to get through. Some of it was ours to carry, and a lot of it wasn't. Some of it we never got the chance to put down. Our body gets used to all that weight. It starts to believe that being busy keeps everything safe. So even when life gets a bit quieter, we sit down with a cup of tea and a few minutes later we're up again, doing something. The truth is, we can't control everything. But there are things we can control, like our breath, our next step, what we say yes and no to, and the way we talk to ourselves. Think of someone who led you well. Maybe a teacher, a boss, your gran or a good friend. When things got messy, she didn't have all the answers. She just said something like "we'll figure it out, one step at a time", and everyone calmed down a bit. We can do that for ourselves too. This week's worksheet, Why Is It So Hard to Slow Down?, helps you unpack your backpack and keep only what's yours. There are four steps: notice your first sign of stress, sort what's in your hands and what isn't, choose a kinder story to tell yourself, and a one minute reset for when you feel yourself rushing. It's below for you to download 📄 Vote in the poll below 👇 and then share in the comments: when you try to rest, what's the one thing that usually gets you up off the couch? Have a look at someone else's answer too and reply to her. Chances are you'll recognise yourself. 💛

I'm so used to being super busy working full-time and growing a business that I feel uncomfortable when I try to rest!
