I think both are important but foot sweeps just feel so nice when you hit them with perfect timing and little effort 😌
question?!
So just to understand you guys better, what got you interested in further learning the standup game for jiujitsu??! don't be shy this will really help me understand you guys better and make better content for y'all!

I feel like jiu jitsu is evolving into a hybrid sport especially with adcc getting so big. Wrestling is becoming a big part of the game and a necessity if you want to compete. Btw I’m doing the San Diego Adcc open this weekend. Wish me luck! 🙏🏼

Does your gym let you standup??
so question for you guys is how often does your gym let you start standing? im curious because I know some gyms are less than others. As well as how often do they actually teach you guys takedowns in class?? please let me know below I am very curious how other schools do this!

At 10th Planet South bay, We've adopted the CLA format. we start every class with a stand up game, whether it be to maintain inside position, hand fighting, starting with a single or double leg and work to takedown or escape. We then move to the ground and play games as well. Classes can be tiring especially if your training partner is a spaz but I enjoy the format. What do ya'll think about CLA

@Andreus Bond I feel it has definitely changed the way I see training. We aren’t jus drilling moves but learning “concepts” and the moves come from trying to achieve the certain goals we are trying to achieve in each position. Dont get me wrong I love drilling still.
Welcome to Takedown U — Introduce Yourself
Drop an intro so we can all get to know you. Answer these 5 questions: 1. What’s your name + where do you train? 2. How long have you been doing jiu-jitsu? 3. How confident do you feel with takedowns right now (1–10)? 4. What’s the biggest thing you struggle with on the feet?(stance, shots, getting sprawled on, fear of shooting, etc.) 5. What’s one takedown or skill you really want to learn? Optional:Post a training goal for the next 30 days.

1. Julian Nevarez I train at 10th planet South Bay in San Diego. 2. Been doing jiu jitsu for 7 years. No precious wrestling experience. 3. Right now I’d say about 5. 4. Shooting, cutting angles, getting sprawled on 5. Duck unders, single and double legs 6. In the next 30 days I’d like to take down at least one of the D1 wrestlers in the gym 😁
