I slept until 11 am and had some really cool dreams. Making chili for my family this afternoon.

@Claire Venus Claire I've been on Substack for about three years and what I've been loving the most is how supportive the community is. My growth has been entirely organic, primarily, from supporting other writers. It's been a great base for my business.

@Sara Obando Congratulations on being in business for nine years! And I hear yah about things feeling really heavy right now. I'll just say that as business owners we're absolutely making a positive difference in the world by creating the good things we create and helping the people we help. A little positive energy can go a long way. Knowing this keeps me going and contributing.

This also reminds me of a social psychology experiment in which subjects were asked what they would pay to make social media go away. People didn't offer a lot of money. I think the average was $35US. Still it was fascinating that people dislike social media so much that they would actually pay money to make it go away. It's a classic FOMO situation. People dislike social media but feel compelled to use it because their friends and family do. Really interesting.

@Ruth Poundwhite Same. I'm rarely on FB but I have family and friends who are. And I have a lot of affection for them. I've been thinking about sending virtual "thinking of you" cards more often as one way to keep in touch.
