☕ Coffee Hour Reminder
Just a quick reminder that our Coffee Hour is happening tomorrow at 3 PM! (French time) After last week’s unexpected postponement, I’m really looking forward to seeing you all and catching up. Bring your coffee, tea, questions, works in progress, or simply come and say hello. Whether you’re creating every day or just getting started again, you’re very welcome. See you tomorrow! Drop a ☕ in the comments if you’ll be joining us! Valérie 🎨

That sounds lovely.. but the calendar has the time as 3am (and I am on Paris time, so I am confused) Hope to be able to join in!
Help Each Other by Engaging on Instagram
Hi there! 😊 As an artist with a small Instagram account, I’ve found it really lovely to have a group of supportive and engaging followers. I’ve even noticed that strangers, mostly other artists, sometimes cheer louder than friends and family 🤪 Personally, my goal right now isn’t to grow a huge following (my profile has actually been private for a while), but I do really enjoy meaningful engagement and supporting others as well 😊 That’s why I’d love to invite you to drop your Instagram (name or link) below so we can follow each other, engage, and support one another 😊🙌 Mine is https://www.instagram.com/lizaglorius.art?igsh=MW5qZWk4eG1xNDlxNA%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

@Jim Serchak I know lots of people use it for both - sharing the work, but also to encourage sells - people can contact you in a private message for purchasing. *to everyone - please share your experience - I'm just getting started on insta myself.

@Jim Serchak I'm also commenting for points and to laugh at your post commenting for splatter points - but especially: OMG CORTO!!! I love Corto Maltèse - mysterious, cocky, handsome, but in a good-hearted way. Why did you choose him as your profile photo?
inspiration/ reference
Where do you find your inspiration? Or references? Do you use photo’s? From websites? Or do you shoot your own? Don’t use references at all? just look outside? Read books? Poetry?

All of the above! Sometimes i get an idea in my head, and I head to Unsplash or other royalty free images and search for something like what's in my head, but I also follow some free reference photos groups on Facebook, and I also try to take my own photos, though I don't feel I am the best at framing. I find inspiration everywhere - my trouble is - so many things to paint, so little time! 😅

@Valérie Van Kraaij The one I'm thinking of literally starts with: Artist reference photos - I'm sure there are a bunch :)

Me too! I came to say I love the luminosity in the lemon slices, and I honor your work - bc it looks like a lot of work went into this piece. I enjoy looking at it, taking it in - texture, colors, lovely!
