Austria for Star?
I never knew Star brand employed Austrian makers. I thought this was cool. 👏🏻

Here is a little I found to follow up on Brad’s info. You teach so much !! Ty. A vintage costume jewelry company simply signed STAR and marked "Made in Austria" (active roughly 1940s–1960s) made popular rhinestone and crystal star-themed and whimsical brooches often mistakenly described or found as imports in Australia, rather than a domestic "Star Company" manufacturing in Australia itself.
Can we talk……. Insurance?
For those of you who have private collections or a large inventory of Jewelry, do you have it insured through a separate private insurance company? Who do you use and how much does it cost? Needing to get my jewels insured.

Bakelite Super Secret Code.
Ammonia, regular old cleanimg Ammonia on a q tip. Household stuff. It is the common base ingredient in simichrome, 409 etc. The chemical reactions yield the nicotine yellow we are used to seeing with the polish. It is what's reactive in the polish when applied to phenolic compound. Bakelite is a brand name of phenolic resin. Bakelite as a company the og company focused on more industrial uses. Radios Gaskets Parts MachiningStuff etc Catalin, marbelette and others formulated the jewelry tones and special finishes of phenolic resin. There's a seller on Etsy that sells bakelite testing pads. These are genius. They are cosmetic pads soaked in super secret ..Ammonia allowed to dry and become portable for on the run testing. Follow me for more cool tricks.

Analysis Paralysis
I just heard this phrase for the first time and what a wonderful phrase it is! Deny analysis paralysis. That is to say, don't hyperventilate wondering what the absolute best option is because this delays any positive outcome and undermines your own gut in the process. This is complete workflow sabotage. And more importantly, certainly avoid it while hosting a live show. Those eight seconds you took deciding whether to run it or not caused five people to exit your show before you even made the decision. The additional six seconds you took deciding to run it for $20 rather than "$5 and go" took another three people out. Let's not talk about how long you waffled over who made it. On Whatnot with a room full of 40 people, it doesn't so much matter if Schreiner made it. It matters how pretty the item is and how many viewers decide that must have it which is predominantly based on how quick you were on your feet. (Oh, I'm guilty of manufacturer waffling!) In summary, make speedy gut decisions and you'll accomplish so much more while building exemplary self confidence as well as the confidence of your customer. To beak it down one step further, do you admire a person who obsesses before making a move or are you drawn to someone who makes a decision and owns it? Even if they fail, you hold them in high esteem for busting a move and running with the ball. (Ew, a sports analogy. What is this, a zoom call?!) XO, Fondly not written with AI, threefortytwo

I am a new seller. Started out selling, had big emergency surgery. Was out six months. Now starting over. It happens. One thing I learned with raids. I thank the raider for thinking of me. I invite them to stay and see what we are showing! One thank you. Not ten min of it. People have already spent in the previous show. You have one opportunity to show a few pieces while new people there. Start showing. If you have a mod, tell them ahead of time to highlight and thank the raider on chat. I don’t ask how their show was. No one is going to give any response except great. Welcome them in. And show. Some will stay. It’s fun. Don’t be nervous. Enjoy it. It’s a gift to get a raid. Be grateful but don’t coo. We have Seconds before they start leaving. I don’t tell the chat to follow the raider. They can decide if they like what the raider sells. That’s what works for me so far. Blessings , Joy. 🌹
