Help with struggle
I know the whole point of pitch secrets is to avoid the whole “I help xyz do xyz so they can xyz…” but I’m just not understanding what to say to people without that phrasing. For example I’m trying to redo my Instagram profile and I’d love some input. I had my tagline say “I help Christian healthcare professionals create additional income streams through faith-led entrepreneurship so they can build more freedom and live with greater purpose.” But how do I change that? What should I be saying instead?

Storytelling is a big part of it. A big lesson I got from live calls with Forbes plus the book is that people are interested in what we can do for them. Everybody says they help so how do we reframe it? I'll use my work as example. As someone who has swam against the current, has gone against external opinions after listening to them for so long and working my way up to where I want to be I'm on a mission to build the mindset and character of the next generation (ages 12 to 24) in order to create the life they want for themselves. How does your story build your pitch making it less about you and more about the client you want to reach?

A month from this post later haha same question
Chapter F
Just saw the Forbes It video and I have to say it's a great compliment to the book. For me, I'm lucky enough to come from a good family, a good group of friends I grew up with, but I always felt there was something missing. My passion had always been movies, still is. I talk movies, imagine movies, obsess about movies. I always felt left out because grown ups would talk about news, friends would talk gossip and I would talk movies. Long story short I tried so hard to fit in. I wasn't bullied in school but was hardly included, tried to have a big group of friends, only had 2-3 real ones. At the time that bothered me. It took me to the extent of almost giving up on my vision since I was so scared to take the shot. After I graduated from psychology I didn't even see myself in an office seeing patients everyday. I then decided to leave my home in Costa Rica and moved to NY to become an actor. This also gave me the idea to mentor the next generation. We have, not the right, but the duty, the responsibility to be ourselves and, with billions of people out there there's no way you won't find your community.

@Glenn Watkins I'm sorry for your loss. I've also noticed that the more you talk to people the clearer your perception becomes. It's so true that everyone has a story to tell, but most seem to not feel they have the space to share it. There are also only 2 options of what to do with ones story, struggles, challenges. Do we use them as an excuse of to why we don't move on and justify who we are or do we use it as fuel to help us grow and inspire others to do the same?
