What does MOVEMENT mean to YOU?
What I’ve been sharing lately is super basic—classical foundation. And I’m going to keep sharing more of it. At some point I’ll move into the more intricate movement, but I’m not rushing that. Because the deeper I go, the more I’m reminded of something… Movement isn’t just “levels.” Beginner. Novice. Advanced. Honestly, even the advanced stuff can be picked up by a beginner depending on how they feel the movement. What matters… is movement itself. And I say that because there was a time when I couldn’t move. I had a torn rotator cuff … and to be real, I still deal with it today. It’s manageable now, but years ago it was bad. I could hardly do anything. And when your body stops moving, your mind starts slipping. Discouragement. Worthlessness. Depression. All of that creeps in. So when I teach, when I share these drills, when I see you all practicing… I don’t take it lightly. Movement is a gift. Movement is expression. Movement is life. I appreciate every single one of you in here — all levels, all backgrounds … showing up… More is coming. And everything will eventually be categorized for clarity (Beginner / Advanced). But the real question underneath all of this is: What does movement mean to you? Comment below. I’d love to hear it. 🙏🏼

When I think of movement I try to keep it as simple as possible. At first, I tried to copy others, because I was drawn to their style. Something about it, the flow, the form, the follow-ups. But now, I care less about that, I even care less about dance in general. I feel like I've seen enough to the point where I feel like I don't need to look further but instead start looking more inward. This means to really develop a unique taste, no longer being easily impressed by external forces, but slowly starting to chip away at everything unnecessary until something truly unique and essential comes about; something that is in line with the divine, obedient to the soul. This is where the spiritual aspect, the personality aspect and whatever else that has influence on you as a person and consequently on your dance comes in. I've always been a struggler, someone that tries to "carry his cross" in isolation. In essence, movement for me means to struggle, but in that struggle one finds meaning. Meaning in faith, hope and love , futher powered by a good and blessed community.

Rhythm, if that is set in stone, all the rest follows. Every move you teach then will be applied in the right way.
🌀 Basic Flow Drill (Kickout)→ UP
A super basic movement — Front Sweep (Kickout) Nothing fancy yet, just a clean control drill. I’ll be adding more and stacking movement to it soon, but for now, focus on what happens after the kick-out → the control, the lift, the transition. Check it out, break it down, and see what variation you can come up with. 👉🏼 Post your take in the thread — let’s build on it. https://www.skool.com/fmz-9760/classroom/886d5dcc?md=e463615ac5b04fce9b96605ec2fc55d1

Maybe we could choose a set day each month where we meet and catch up. Like a check up, sharing our growth, our process etc. Some training session would be really nice. And, for me personally I would especially like to learn how to become a better, more complete teacher in breaking as well.
🎯 Challenge #2: Then vs Now
Dig into your archives — post an old photo or clip from your breaking journey. In your caption, reflect on what’s changed: your mindset, your movement, or your purpose. Let the community see how far you’ve come. 🙏🏼

This is was from 2023. I was practicing hardcore with dutch OG Rabbani (Def Dogz) twice a week, and also went to the gym once a week. Though I was definitely more in shape and more focussed on purely breaking (physically) back then, I must say that I did not have the clarity of mind nor the focus on life that I had in that time, nor was my purpose in breaking as defined. However, this program did offer alot of growth, not only in break but also in mentality. Rabbani and his program have been a major source of inspiration and I hope to replicate something similar in the future.
