More about June 30th 2025 celebration for 18 months clean
June 30th I reached 18 months clean from self-harm this is how i celebrated after the Canada Day July 1st fireworks show the progress with self-harm recovery had taken a long time but I'm starting to accept the scars as what they are and it’s becoming easier not to wanna make new red lines in my arm the three songs I picked each have meaning to my recovery and I’ll continue to break the silence for all who still struggle when I started this journey I was a scared judged small little girl full of emotions but told to keep quiet to keep the peace I grew up with an alcoholic dad who had a stroke when I was 9 and I got to the point after losing my son where I didn’t even wanna be alive anymore self-harm and the blade became my best friends as life and everyone seems to move on without me rock bottom I’ve got to many times hit on different level but now I’m glad I didn’t get or the last level of death like I so wanted back then recovery is hard work but it is worth it to wake up and feel the sun knowing my arms aren’t red and I don’t have to hide my destruction because it’s healing now I’m on a recuse mission instead of a search and destroy I’m glad I got to see recovery many don’t get the chance suicide leaves a big and lasting impact to those left behind I would know that’s how I lost most of my friends speak up let your voice be heard it’s not a weakness to ask for help instead it’s one of the bravest moves I’ve taken to admit I didn't have it all together or know all the answers and that’s ok you just have to be willing to change for recovery and be willing to do anything to stay clean that’s real recovery a good day in recovery is when everything goes ok and you don’t use your blades a bad day in self-harm recovery is when you had a l really bad day and you still choose recovery over destruction we so recover 18 months clean from self-harm I Recover Out Loud Because I Almost Died In Silence

June 30th 2025 18 months clean from self-harm
June 30th, 2025, marked 18 months, or 1 year and 6 months, or 548 days of being free from self-harm. This journey began with a little girl who felt scared, alone, and helpless, cutting herself in her room, on the bus, and in school bathrooms, desperate to escape her emotions and her reality a girl that didn’t wanna live and didn’t know how to change But through selfharm recovery, she has grown and changed, transforming into a resilient and strong individual. Who stands up for herself who uses coping mechanisms to get thru urges that knows right from wrong that tried her best for friends and knows when she needs a break she’s growing into a person who would’ve protected her as a child and that’s the strongest move she’s ever made

Wonderful 😊
What an Amazing Day of Service! 🏃‍♀️💙
Keep Going family! We had such an incredible time at the 5K today! About 130 runners, racers, and walkers came out, and the weather was absolutely perfect for the event. There's something so fulfilling about being of service - handing out water to keep everyone hydrated and being part of something that brings the community together. Funny story though - we got dropped in the middle of a field that backed up to some overgrown brush, and as soon as we started pouring water, we got absolutely ATTACKED by mosquitoes! 😂 They came out of nowhere! We had to quickly move our table and improvise, but we managed to get everyone their water (while swatting bugs the entire time). One of my favorite parts was watching my friend's son, who was grounded and had to come help as his "penalty." I think it ended up being the best time he's ever spent being grounded! There's something beautiful about showing kids the value of service at a young age. He was laughing and having a great time helping others. At the end of the event, we handed out our Keep Going bracelets with the QR codes linking to our community. Hopefully, that will bring some new members to our family here! SPECIAL WELCOME: If you're here from scanning one of those QR codes today, PLEASE introduce yourself to the group! Let us know what number is on your business card and you could win a special prize! 🎁 This is what recovery community looks like - showing up, serving others, laughing through the chaos (and mosquitoes), and spreading hope one bracelet at a time. Days like today remind me why we do this work. Every person we serve, every bracelet we share, every moment of connection - it all matters. Who's ready for our next community service opportunity? 💪 Keep Going with service and joy! Lynn
