Going Business Route
OK, I have tried out online reselling and feel it is time to go down the official business route. I haven't made the £1000 marker yet but not far from it. I intend to - register as a sole trader and register for self assessment with HMRC. - Setup new Pro accounts on eBay and Vinted. Is it best to setup a business bank account, or could I use a personal account? There seems to be a selection of banks which offer free business banking for the small business. I am looking at keeping my personal Vinted account as I read/watched others who purchase their stock on their personal account and resell the items on their pro account. If so, how to they account for that expense in their accounts? My family have gifted me a large number of items for me to sell online, would these be classed as personal or business sales? Thanks for any feedback. 😀

I'd agree with Pamela and Martin. I'd hold off on going pro specifically on Vinted. I'd be also interested if anyone has the benefits/pitfalls of going pro on ebay? I'm still a private seller on there too.
Mental breakdown.. But tomorrows a new day..
Not really a question as such, more of a shared experience… with a little resilience thrown in. 😂 So, last night I returned to Whatnot after a 3-month break. I was hyped. I had 29 bookmarks, I’d spent hours prepping, and I was convinced I was going to have an amazing show. Guess what… 30 minutes in, barely any sales, and an average of about 4 people in the show. 😂 Naturally, I had a complete breakdown, came off the live and vowed: “I’m NEVER doing Whatnot again.” Within minutes I’d convinced myself the clothes were crap, I was crap on camera, nobody wanted what I was selling… blah, blah, blah. Full dramatic meltdown mode. 😂 Today, I came in, listed 25 items on eBay and 10 on Vinted. No views. No likes. No sales. By 5pm, my brain had naturally reached the completely rational conclusion that: Reselling doesn’t work. It’s not for me. I should probably retire immediately. 😂 Then I spent 10 minutes reading through this group, saw everyone’s success stories and realised… I’ve not failed. I’ve just had a crap 24 hours. Tomorrow is a new day — and, because apparently I enjoy putting myself through this, I’ve got another Whatnot show scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. 😂 Moral of the story: don’t quit on a bad day. Keep going. I’ll update you tomorrow… hopefully with a slightly less dramatic post. 😂😊 Thanks for reading! A a Ron

One thing I do to combat the view/likes stress is just not bother looking. I've had bang average items achieve silly numbers of views and not received offers or actual interest and then items with 0 views but still sell once they after the 1 that counts. The numbers are fairly irrelevant to me. It's too easy to over analyse and then allow data to drive your decision making. No doubt data helps drive business but it doesn't have to be the only factor. And if it starts to impact your psychology negatively avoid it!
Dead stock swaps
I had a though while delivering parcels today and bumping into another local reselle. Do you think fellow resellers would be interested in swapping deadstock? I know most of us are after the newer items because our knowledge grows and trends change but the thought came with how chain charity shops rotate stock. Why can't we do something similar? Would you take 20 items from someone in place of another 20 items? No strings, no cash exchange just a straight here you go, here's 20 new listings for you to try and sell. New eyes, maybe different audiences, fresh listings. Would if anyone has considered or even done it?
Nikwax
Posted earlier on a thread but possibly got missed. Picked up a Paramo Nikwax jacket today but it has some discolouration around the zips. Wondered if I could use pink stuff on it (it's my go to for staining) or would it damage the actual Nikwax? Not really sure on how to deal with it!

I've tried to mess with the brightness to highlight the discolouring. Not sure if you can see it but it's around all the zips pretty much

As I'm not fully clued up on waxing how can you decipher when such items need rewaxing?
Rello Users - Editing not working?
I know we are careful with reposting right now but I can't seem to even edit prices in my inventory now. I'm using the free version and to be honest these are the only two of three features I'm using (Searching inventory is great still and helpful). It's not a great incentive to upgrade to paid. Is anyone else having this issue, I've tried contacting them but heard nothing! Is the paid version working???

I've seen you mention this a couple of times now, Rob. What exactly is Rello?

@Rob Chamberlain thank you, Rob. I'll look into it.
