I’d always rather hire someone who’s eager to learn and genuinely loves dogs than someone who’s “done it all before” but won’t follow your way of working. 🐾 2️⃣ Watch how they interact with animals You can tell a lot from body language. Do they move calmly and confidently? Are they gentle but firm? The best handlers connect with dogs naturally, not forcefully. 🧽 3️⃣ Ask about the “boring bits” Everyone loves the fun side of pet care, but make sure they’re realistic about the cleaning, weather, and early starts. People who say, “I don’t mind getting dirty” usually last the longest 😅 🤝 4️⃣ Trust your gut If something feels off — it usually is. You can sense when someone’s energy doesn’t fit your culture.
