Alright everyone — let’s do a quick community check-in.
I want to hear what you’re all working on right now. Big projects, small projects, parts on order, ideas still on paper — it all counts. How’s your build coming along? What did you finish recently? What’s the next thing you’re tackling? Drop an update in the comments and post some pictures if you’ve got them. This community gets better the more we share, help each other, and stay involved. Also, if you’ve got friends who own Squarebodies and would fit in here, invite them in. We’re building this the right way — as a family, not just another group. We’ve got another giveaway planned once we hit 500 members, and the more good people we bring in, the better this place becomes for everyone. Really appreciate all of you being here and helping shape this community. Let’s keep it positive, helpful, and focused on building badass Squarebodies together.

Been working on getting my body aligned back with the frame long story short, front end is prepped to be taken off and motor to get pulled once I can get my hands on a cherry picker and engine stand dor a decent price or deal. Been working on cleaning up the 6.2 engine as well from having a tarp over it for past 2 years and cleaning the block and area of all crap I could before tearing it apart for a full rebuild (and turbo) this year, trying to get the fan assembly off so I can throw a 24mm on the crank bolt and see if she will spin over, if not im not concerned, a lil surface rust can be cleaned up and whole motor is getting torn apart by me down to the crank potentially so going the whole nine yards if I pull the motor and the back of the block isnt messed up, had a coolant leak on passenger back aide around the head and beleive its a busted freeze plug but to be determined still. Just little things at a time 🤝🙏
Introduction post/sharing bout my truck.
Hey yall, Little introduction post for the group. My names jon and im down in GA, and ive been around suburbans my whole life. Grew up in a 06 suburban that my dad bought as the first new car he had ever purchased and I was hooked since day 1 bringing it home from the dealer. Had and built it out myself and enjoyed it for years, but sold it to get my 1986 Silverado C10 suburban. I consider myself very lucky and got the truck with 74k original miles on the clock, and that is backed up by the spotless undercarriage and body and frame underneath, ill post more photos of that at some point. Truck was bought brand new in 1986 at Vaden Chevrolet in Savannah GA, I have the original dealership packet stuffed with orig paperwork thats stayed with the truck along with the factory original manuals, she came with the 6.2 na detroit in her from the factory, custom ordered two tone paint job, as well as towing package. My plans are to yank the junk 6.2 block (has several cracks in it sadly), perfectly good 700r4 Trans and front subframe and rear axles, and 4wd convert it myself in my driveway, and down the road when its the time to, 12v or 24v swap her with a Manuel trans behind it. I have a older sky jacker lift kit in it that I bought a while back off marketplace thatll clear 38s no issues, but goal is to make it the ultimate outdoor rig, and family hauler, I got 3 young boys 3 dogs and a wife so coming from a large damily growing up and having one now, I couldnt pick a better vehicle to do it all in. Stay tuned for the process, its little by little considering all things but ill be asking for help or sharing updates as I make my way along 🙏Happy new year and lets make this a great year.
