Genuine question - where do you get your AI news from?
i keep switching between sites and still feel like i'm missing things. by the time i find something useful, it's already old news. looking for one solid source (or a tight stack) that covers : models, tools, updates. practical stuff i can apply. not just noise. tbh this community has been one of the better ones so far. but curious what else you're reading. website, newsletter, youtube, discord, anything. what are you using day to day?

Video/Content recommendations?
Hi all! Does anyone have any recommendations for people who post worthwhile content on AI? Aside from Jake, the moonshot podcast and a few others, 99% of what I see out there is total click bait. Keen to hear if there’s any podcasts/youtube channels worth a look.

@David Vogel I agree. the get rich quick, do this like me and your make money, etc. All garbage and just click bait where if you watch the they get revenue. Most of it AI slop trying to sell something. maybe times touting some new tool that is "changing the game" and you better learn it or you will fall behind. I prefer intellect, people who can prove results. Places that have a proven track record of providing value info not a lame blueprint that claims you just ask AI something and you get rich. One of the reasons I like this community. It's solid, proven, reliable info that you can get immediate value from. Something that guides you to find how it can help you vs this notion if you just type this phrase into AI it will make you millions.
MCP or not to MCP that is the question
What are peoples thoughts on MCP's? I seas to me that this whole idea of WMP is to reduce MCP's, Skills, etc. Less reliance on AI and mostly on folder structure? I'm watching a Remotion tutorial and as with many tutorials they throw a bunch of nom commands, want you to install all kinds of skills and MCP servers and whatnot. In this case "Playwright". I have always been hesitant to install things. Even Morse n ow with AI. And with the MCP I don't want to be in. a habit of having all kinds of skills and MCP servers loading when I launch Claude causing it the bloated, sling sown and costing tokens to sift through unnecessary items I may fairly use. This one may be used more if I like it? What are everybody else's thoughts on MCP's and Skills for that matter. Even though @Jake Van Clief says sop building skills does anybody have favorites they feel that can't go without? Anybody else using Remotion? Im not sure what Ill use it for other than for fun right now and just to expand my AI toolbox. :)

@David Vogel yeah thats were I'm concerned. I wanted to play with remotion and the tutorial I was watching was saying off this MCP, these skills nd install them globally. Thet felt a bit much. I just wanted to tinker and if I find a use case for t and something of value id keep it. Otherwise just a thing to play and lean. So adding an MCP that loads very time, takes up tokens and memory and resources. That appears to be a common practice when I watch YouTue videos. Just people doing cool things but installing a world of tools and not considering they are just wasting tokens, adding exposure, opening their computer up to many vulnerabilities. My understanding is this whole methodology is to NOT do any of that. Load only what you need the you need it. You control it not just having Claude control you.

Am I wrong so have a Claude MD in the top level root # Identity You are helping Johnny Leuthard manage his personal brand, career, and social media presence. This is the root workspace. It tells you where to go and what to load. Always read the CLAUDE.md in whatever workspace you land in. # Rules - Always follow the Model Workspace Protocol (MWP) - If you are less than 99% certain about something, ask questions until you are - my-brand is the source of truth for voice and brand — load it before any writing task # Workspace Structure Clief Notes - Private/ ├── CLAUDE.md ← Root identity, routing rules ├── CONTEXT.md ← Cross-workspace loading order ├── README.md ← Overview and getting started ├── NOTES.md ← MWP concepts and layer structure ├── my-brand/ ← Brand source of truth (voice, visual, templates) ├── social-media/ ← Social content (LinkedIn, Instagram) ├── job-search/ ← Resumes, cover letters, interview prep ├── mwp-notes/ ← MWP learning and reference ├── n8n builder/ ← n8n workflows and front-end apps └── remotion/ ← Video compositions and animations (Remotion) # Routing <see picture> Then I have a CONTEXT.md with more specifics in using the root In each sub folder (one level under) I have individual workflows/projects. Each has its own CLAUDE.md and CONTEXT.md. Some things share content when needed. Like BRAND info. But if I did it right it only lads the brand when doing a social media post. Thanks like that. Otherwise I used Claude to create it an told it to add to the files NOT to load any of this until needed. I kind of feel like I'm missing something with CLAUDE.md and CONTEXT.md and maybe I'm adding redundancy and confusion?
nobody else have organization anxiety
I think I’ve figured out my biggest roadblock. When I start a project, I organize it one way. Then I want to add something new, and suddenly the structure doesn’t feel right anymore. So I start over with a new setup, thinking I’ll move everything later. I rarely do. Then the cycle repeats. Right now I’m working across a couple of machines, mainly my MacBook Pro and Mac mini. I was syncing through GitHub, but things ended up scattered. Recently I tried putting my workflows in iCloud. It felt better. One central location, always updated, no constant push and pull. I still synced to GitHub and even reorganized my repos to match. Deleted and rebuilt a few to fit the new structure. Tonight I wanted to mess around with Remotion and do something fun. I used Claude to scaffold a new subfolder under my main project root where I keep a bunch of half-finished ideas. Claude warned me that using it inside iCloud could cause problems and recommended keeping everything local. So now I’m back to local folders, multiple repos, and GitHub again. Add in the fact that I’m relying on AI tools to help define structure, but I don’t fully understand all of it, which bothers me. I like to understand how things work. That lack of clarity makes it harder to feel confident in the setup. The result is constant restarting instead of progressing. Is it just me or does anybody else have a disorganized brain that they spend more time cleaning up, reorganizing just to be able to get traction on what they are doing.

@Apeksha Gadekar I'm dabbling in a few ideas but it's in front of some pretty complex things. I've gotten far and pretty proud of it but I've been trying to think of a very simple, extremely simple, thing to do as a starting point. Something where I can do the process beginning to end then from there add another folder and have that a a blueprint. Im just not sure what that super simple task is.
