Weekly Coffee Hour Starts in Less Than an Hour
Grab your coffee. Let's talk. In less than 60 minutes, we're meeting for our weekly coffee hour in the 40 and Unemployed community. One hour. No agenda. Just real conversation about what you're going through. Job search struggles. Age discrimination. Freelancing. Building something on your own terms. Whatever's on your mind. This is your space to vent, share wins, ask questions, and connect with people who get it. See you in the room. By the way— If you're trying to build income on Medium and tired of making pennies, I just launched Medium Mastery. 11 modules teaching exactly how I went from $300/month to $4,500/month in 90 days. Weekly live coaching. Real community. No guru bullshit. First 300 members: $5/month locked in foreverAfter that: $14.99/month 👉 https://www.skool.com/medium-mastery-1766/about Not required. Just letting you know it's there if you're ready to stop writing for your ego and start writing for income. See you in an hour. —Jason

I am definitely going to introduce a Coffee Hour style meeting in my Skool Owners Network community. This platform has been an incredibly refreshing change in the sense that everyone is so welcoming and supportive which really resonates with me on a personal level. I didn't watch all 59 minutes but I saw enough to see how enjoyable it was and of course it creates a really cool space for networking with others for all the right reasons and not just because it has to be done. Love it and I will be doing it! Cheers John 😎

If you're here, you're probably over 40 and fighting the same fight I am. Sending out resumes that disappear into the void. Getting ghosted by recruiters. Watching younger people get hired for jobs you're overqualified for. Wondering if you're unemployable or if the entire system just broke while you weren't looking. You're not imagining it. The job market is brutal right now. Especially for us. I'm 57. I've been freelancing for over 20 years. I have a degree. I use AI tools every day. I'm faster and better at my work than I've ever been. And I still can't get hired. Not because I'm not good enough. Because companies don't want to invest in people like us anymore. We're too expensive. Too experienced. Too likely to know our worth and not accept garbage wages. This group exists because we're all dealing with the same thing. And most of us are doing it alone. Scrolling LinkedIn at 2am wondering what we're doing wrong. Applying to jobs we're overqualified for and still not getting callbacks. Trying to figure out how to rebuild a career in a market that decided we're disposable. You're not alone. That's why we're here. Drop a comment and introduce yourself. Where are you? What kind of work are you looking for? What's your biggest struggle right now? Let's actually talk about this. Let's help each other. Let's stop pretending this is normal and start figuring out how to survive it together. Welcome. I'm glad you're here.

Wow. I hear all the comments on here loud and clear. Lost my job 3 times in my career. 1 was my fault as I lost interest and I guess it must have shown but the other 2 times were for being too honest and transparent when I saw things I shouldn't and couldn't let them slide. I ended up working for myself which inevitably had its ups and downs and now at 64 I'm finally retired and trying to give something back. A lot of the comments certainly resonate re making applications and being over qualified and over experienced as they want to pay peanuts etc. I was 50 when I lost my last job and have no doubt that my age was the biggest barrier. All I can advise is do not let the bast*rds grind you down, never devalue yourself and keep looking forwards no matter how hard that can be. To all of you still searching for YOUR place I wish you all the best. 2026 could just be your turning point. 😎

@Jason Weiland A bit of humility goes a long way so anything we can do to influence the planet is fine by me. And no, I am not a green party member, but honesty and transparency are definitely part of my make up. 😎
