🧭 Daily Check-In
Use this thread to post your daily check-in. This is a shared accountability space. It's not a challenge and it’s not a discussion thread. It’s a simple record of what you did that day. --- 🦁 The Lionheart Framework (The Standard) Every check-in reflects one of four day types. These are not ranks or achievements. They describe the day you actually had. - Initiate Day β†’ fewer than 3 pillars - Warrior Day β†’ 3 to 4 pillars - Guardian Day β†’ 5 to 6 pillars - Lionheart Day β†’ 7 to 9 pillars All four days are valid if they are reported honestly. Your streak is based on checking in, not on hitting a certain number. --- βœ… How to Check In Post once per day. Keep it short and honest. Include both of the following: 1️⃣ Your Day Type Based on how many pillars you practiced today: - Initiate Day β†’ fewer than 3 pillars - Warrior Day β†’ 3 to 4 pillars - Guardian Day β†’ 5 to 6 pillars - Lionheart Day β†’ 7 to 9 pillars 2️⃣ What You Did Either: - List the pillars you completedor - Briefly state what you actually did Photos are encouraged, not required. --- 🧱 Pillars Reference Use the Lionheart Pillars to log your day: πŸ‘‰ Lionheart Method | 9 Pillars of Mastery Need examples, clarification, or ideas? πŸ‘‰ Lionheart Pillar Playbook --- πŸ“ Example Check-Ins Warrior Day (4/9) Exercise β€’ Hydrate β€’ Nourish β€’ Reflect Guardian Day (6/9) Lifted β€’ Walked outside β€’ Hydrated β€’ Ate clean β€’ Read 10 min β€’ Logged Initiate Day (2/9) Rough day. Walked. Hydrated. Checked in. All of these count if they are honest. --- βš–οΈ The Standard (Read This) - You don’t need perfect days. - You do need visible ones. Miss a pillar? Log it. Miss a workout? Log it. Miss the day? Check in anyway. This system works because nothing is hidden. --- πŸ” Weekly Review At the end of the week, post your summary in:

@Chris Dickens I unfortunately gained 20 lbs back over the winter and now I'm trying to get it off again. I do believe posting here helps.

Sorry for not posting in a few days, it's been very busy. I turn 40 tomorrow and I was with family all day today after church. Reflecting and looking forward I am excited about this next year. I have a goal of black belt by fifty (still on my 3rd stripe white with Gracie Barra bc I had to take a break over Jan) which sounds funny to say out loud but I'm positive I can do it. Apologies bc I know I'm not posting the proper format but I wanted to check in and let you guys know I'm still here and training. I did complete a 2 day course of defensive tactics with our local police academy for my job (Probation) . It was a good time. A little bit of Jiu-Jitsu but mostly arm and wrist lock training and weapon retention. We did some striking as well and for the last hour of the training days we rolled. We had some people with zero exposure to grappling so it was fun to help teach new people with no experience. Even though I'm still a white belt I was helping teach the grappling portion and I love to teach so I had a good time.
🦁 Quick Poll: Daily Movement Requirement?
As I’ve been tracking my days, I've noticed that when I don’t move my body, even just a little, the whole day feels off. I can hit water, wisdom, reflection, all that… but if I skip movement, I feel out of balance. So I’m wondering… should we make daily movement part of the Lionheart Method? It doesn't have to be extreme. I am thinking just 30 minutes of intentional movement every day. It could be Jiu-Jitsu, lifting, yoga, a walk, or even stretching. Just something. Drop your vote and your thoughts in the comments. I appreciate the feedback. This is how we keep shaping the path together. 🦁 Strong alone, stronger together.

Even if I don't roll that day I stretch and/or drill for 30 min for the exact reason you mentioned

Lead with Courage β†’ time with the nephew and teaching him reading and we rough house a little so I sneak in some simple jitz 😊 Open to Stillness β†’ Morning prayers and some reflection Nourish with Intention β†’ diet still going with added supplements. Hydrate with Purpose β†’ one gallon. I think in the winter this will be more difficult. When it's hot I drink a ton of water. When it's Cold not so much Exercise with Discipline β†’ Another GB1 class down. I am sore πŸ˜‚ Absorb Wisdom β†’ 45 min reading today 6 of 9 just working my way up to 9 of 9
Gracie Barra
Has anyone trained at a Gracie Barra Gym? I'm going to take a trial class tomorrow because I have always wanted to try them out. I am very aware that some folks think they are kind of the "Big Box Store" of Jiu-jitsu (other than GU) but I'm excited for the class

@Chris Dickens Open mats are a good tool as long as you are careful. I always tap early to anything on an open mat because I don't have a training relationship with the person so I don't know how hard they will rip a submission.

I honestly love it at Gracie Barra, Everytime is a fun time. Today at the end of class the professor said hey you need your stripes, I was surprised. I didn't expect him to carry over stripes from another school. Both professors have watched me a few times and gave them to me at the end of class today.

Interact with nature - mowed and cleaned up outside at my house and my parents house. Nourish with intention - Sundays I have to watch myself because the Church always has donuts πŸ˜‚ but I declined Absorb wisdom - Went to church and I'm also in the choir so I get to practice my Greek through singing and listened with intention to the sermon. I spent years half listening to the Pastor because I grew up in church. Now I listen intensely. My goal is going to be shooting for 9/9 from now on. I started slow but need to step it up
