I just picked this up on a whim. Maybe I should not be left unsupervised.

Very nice!
Uplifting needed!!
I’m in need of some good uplifting comments, suggestions, any advice or whatever you can think of. I’m trying to shake off a recent loss. I’m cousin and best friend of 45 years passed away. Last time we were together was my daughter’s birthday celebration 4 weeks ago. It was so unexpected we’re all in shock. But I am thankful for this community and music is always great for healing. So any songs, riffs, or whatever send it my way. I need something to do to help keep me distracted. I’ve got my pedal builds to get caught up on too. But I’m glad to have the support from you all, thank you.

I’m sorry for your loss. Ronald Reagan once said "Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.".

@Ronald Parada very cool!
How you learn?
Im wondering how did everybody learn to play? Did you have an actual teacher? Teach yourself? Do you learn by watching? Do you learn by tab? Me personally, my Stepdad taught me the major chords, and I watched him play some songs then I kinda just used tab and now use youtube lessons. Ive been playing 20 years or so, and can learn pretty much anything. But I know S**t about theory, scales modes ect. Haha

Well, I’m only two months into learning. I’m using the Justin Guitar app. I’m taking it slow and enjoying it. I’m considering actual lessons in the future if I go through the contents of the app and feel like I haven’t learned the details I could get from having another person to talk to about where I’m stuck.
Are you 'picky'?
I saw a question on fb that piqued my interest, but in a twisted way. They were asking 'what pick do you use?' My response was this here, I have no idea what pick it is, I don't lose pics often, so I will use this until it dies, then grab another one, it doesn't particularly matter exactly what pick I wind up with. So this bring on my question, just how finicky do you feel about your set-up? People ask how often they should set up their guitar? I have a 20 year old strat, I bought it from a reputable music store, and it never occurred to me about set-up. I recently got curious, and tested each fret/string position above the 12th fret, and they all seem great. (As I told my brother, I don't get up there often... lol)

Jim Dunlop .38mm. I’m learning from the Justin Guitar app and he recommended the thinnest pick you could find to start. No idea why. I assume I will use a thicker pick once I get a little better.

Just starting out. Just about two months in. Hard for an old man to learn, but I’m having fun!
