What I learned from building N8N workflows with Claude Code.
Recently, I moved from building N8N workflows manually to using Claude Code to build the workflows. Here are five lessons I've learned from building in N8N workflows with Claude Code. Lesson 1. Be Specific. Be specific with your goal and your desired outcome. A good way to make sure Claude knows specifically what you want to achieve is to write up a technical document or project report containing some brief detailed information about what your building, who you're building it for, the problem you're trying to solve, along with other project specifications you think might be important. The document you feed Claude doesn't have to be long, nor does it have to contain all the information about the architecture of the workflow, the different nodes you would use, or any other technical information that a builder would normally need to know. Treat Claude like a developer. Just give Claude a brief report telling it what you want and any specific details you have that you can provide and let Claude do the thinking and designing. Lesson 2. Don't just jump in to building the workflow with. Put Claude in planning mode and make sure Claude asks you specific questions about what you are trying to achieve. I've noticed that sometimes Claude will think of things that I didn't think of. Get Claude to ask you questions about your project so it knows more about what it needs to do to create the most satisfactory outcome. Lesson 3. If your project is a complex project that requires multiple workflows, ask Claude to spin up some agents that can work in parallel and build multiple workflows at once. The workflows won't be production-ready immediately. They will need to be tested, and you'll have to test each of them one by one. Having Claude's spin-up agents that work in parallel will save you time. Just make sure that Claude has a solid understanding of your project before asking Claude to spin up multiple agents to build each of the workflows. Lesson 4. Create backups and periodically save your progress. Use GitHub and JSON files to save your progress and back up your workflows and projects. By creating a GitHub repository, you can download your projects and the workflows from GitHub to your laptop when you're not using your desktop. Once you're done working on your project on your laptop, you can ask Claude to push the changes to GitHub and then download the changes from GitHub to your desktop and proceed from there. GitHub is a free cloud service you can use to save your project.

Thanks for sharing this, really useful insights. Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting to use Claude Code? I am especially curious about how to structure the first prompts and what mistakes to avoid in the beginning.
Need Help!
Hey everyone, I’m working on an idea for an AI tool that helps create carousel posts for social media. I recently launched my personal brand, focused on helping local businesses in Portugal grow with content, marketing and AI automation. Since I need to create more carousel content myself, I’m thinking about building a tool that can generate ideas, slide-by-slide structure, copy, CTAs and maybe even visual suggestions. The goal is to make it simple, practical and useful for local businesses, not just another generic AI content tool. I’m still mapping it out and would love to hear your thoughts. What features would you include in a first version? What workflow would make sense? Any tools, automations or integrations you’d recommend? Has anyone built something similar or have any ideas on how I should approach this? Thanks!

@Gaurav Raja Thanks, this is really helpful and very aligned with what I’m trying to build. I completely agree that the biggest value for V1 should be helping local businesses go from a blank page to a ready to post carousel as quickly as possible, instead of trying to build another broad AI content tool. I like the focused workflow you suggested: business type, goal, target audience, generated carousel, slide edits and then export to Canva or copy the text. That feels simple enough for an MVP, but still useful for real businesses. I also agree with avoiding full image generation and scheduling in the beginning. The priority should be getting the structure, copy, CTA suggestions and local Portuguese relevance right first. The point about making it feel local to Portugal is especially important. I think that could be one of the main differentiators, especially if the templates and examples feel natural for restaurants, gyms, salons, clinics, real estate and other local businesses here. I’ll start shaping the MVP around this structure and build a first version focused on speed, simplicity and local relevance. Really appreciate the thoughtful input.

Wow, that’s an excellent workflow and I really like the way you’re thinking about it. It feels like a proper creative production system, especially with the research, memory and product output all connected. That said, it does seem a bit complex to implement at my current stage, but HERE WE GO!!
Stole a client from squire
so a couple weeks back i was actually working with a barber and i signed him on to one of my packages for a backstory or for background context. i offered three packages: novice, intermediate, and veteran. this barber has signed up on the novice package and then he got contacted by squire and maybe he contacted squire. i'm not sure but either way he had an appointment with them. he asked me if i could sit in with them just to see if maybe we could work together or something. that's what he was kind of intending. he just wanted me to sit there and hear it out and see what's up. then i sat through it and i was like "okay squire basically does what i do. squire is technically doing what i'm doing just a little differently, just under a brand for someone who already created it specifically for barbers and what i do is basically for any business owner." long story short he heard her out and it was happening. all i need, all i know, is that i have to thank ariana for basically closing and upsetting my lead forward on my prospect. after that phone call i think a day or two later he signed up to my veteran package, which was like 2300. i didn't necessarily do anything really. i got the alley-oop and i just dunked it but you know things happen in magical ways right? it's not like i didn't do any work. i know what i wanted to do and i know what i had to do. you just have to play your position and whatever time you're in. sometimes you got ta change positions but you just do what you got ta do and you just keep moving.

That’s a nice win. Sounds like Squire actually helped the client understand the value, and then you were already positioned as the better fit. I’m curious, after hearing their call, did you adjust how you explained your offer or was he already pretty much ready to move forward?

@Mind Unlocked That was a really sharp read from your side. You spotted what the client actually wanted from Squire and used that to position your own offer better. That definitely shows sales skill. I’m currently working with local businesses in Portugal, mainly through paid media and organic traffic, and I’m looking at adding AI services on top of that. From what you’re seeing in your area, what AI services are local businesses actually willing to pay for right now? And if you were in my position, what would you add first to an offer for local businesses?
Student Looking to Learn from People Working Hands-On in AI
I’m really interested in working part-time with someone in the AI space, whether that’s with an agency, startup, or company. I’m currently heading into my fourth year of university studying Computer Science, and over the past six months I’ve become really interested in AI, automation, and the way these tools are changing how people build businesses. Last week, I decided to get Claude Code, and I’ve honestly been obsessed with learning, building, and developing new skills since then. EDIT: Also really want that OS video unlocked leave a LIKE if you dont mind!! Right now, I’m working a full-time internship, but once the school year starts, I’d love to gain more real-world experience. I’d be happy to help with outreach, cold calling, sitting in on calls, shadowing how things operate, or contributing wherever I can. More than anything, I’m looking for an opportunity to learn from people who are actually experienced in this space and see how things work behind the scenes. Excited to be part of this community and looking forward to learning from everyone here.

Love this mindset. Being willing to help with the unglamorous parts like outreach, calls, and shadowing is probably one of the fastest ways to learn how things actually work. Since you just started using Claude Code, what kind of project are you trying to build first?

@Luke Davison That could be a strong angle. Since dealers probably use a bunch of separate tools for inventory, pricing, market research, and reporting, have you thought about positioning it as one simple dashboard that shows them where they’re losing time and money? I feel like the real value might not just be the AI pricing suggestions, but the convenience of having everything in one place. Saving time, reducing tool costs, and making decisions easier is usually what people are happy to pay for.
Just created my first agent! 😍
Hey! Finally created a newsletter agent that creates great newsletters for my client! From 180 minutes to max 30 each week. Awesome. I own a small consulting business, and with AI I can also implement my solutions through Claude Code, N8N and other tools. Its a very big opportunity we all have here – and its good to see everyone in here seizing it! Send me a message to connect and share your experience. Maybe we can help each other. 🤝💡 PS - Partly making this post to help me achieve level 3 and unlock that one course 👀, so be a real brother/sister and leave a like pls 🥰 Keep learning folks!

This is a great use case. Saving 2+ hours every week on one recurring task is a big win. How did you structure the agent? Is it mostly Claude Code and prompts, or are you also using N8N to connect different steps?
