DIY Tarot — Thinking about progression, regression, and transformation in Tarot
I did a live and it was supposed to be recorded, but so far I haven’t been able to find it…😔 So I’ll do a text-based review of what I covered: progression, regression, and transformation in the different suits. Yesterday, our DIY Tarot card was the 7 of Cups, which shows a person in the midst of the decision making process. The figure in the card is considering a variety of different options and needs to choose one. When you look at the 8 of Cups, you see a cloaked figure walking away under a crescent moon. The standard/classic meaning is walking away from something that doesn’t serve you. It can also be seen, if you think about it, as making a choice and walking away from all the other options. The next thing in the series is the 9 of Cups, which is satisfaction, fulfillment, and perhaps a little bit of overconsumption, in some cases. The 9 of Cups can be a card that represents dreams fulfilled. So the figure makes a choice, walks away from everything that isn’t that choice (if it isn’t a hell yeah, then it’s a hell no)—and then, sticking to that choice brings fulfillment and satisfaction to the person. What do you think? Do you see any other potential meanings I missed? How might things change if the person slips from the 9 to the 8, for example? Or the 8 to the 7?
