Good morning! I’m James! I know it says “Jimmy”; I’m working on correcting this. My preferred name is “James”. I’m from the heartland of America, Oklahoma. I’ve lived here for 42 of my almost 44 years save a couple years that I live in Phoenix during college. I love my home state, the red earth clay can make for some unique challenges and great rewards. I own a small business that began as a medical cannabis consultation company, catering to commercial facilities at the beginning of our green boom. Now that the market is flooded, I’ve attempted to transition to a b patient focus company, catering to those patients who wish to grow their own meds along side their own food stuffs, organically. Through the use of a handful of higher-end organic products, I help my clients realize their personal goals with their garden. I’ve always felt that something has been left on the table though. I joined this community to learn about regenerative soil maintenance and health as well as a way to expand my services to my clients.

Everything has a beginning
This is my beginning, well not the very beginning, but pretty close to revitalizing my old family farm of 14 acres. I'm now retired and ready to change hats and work by investing in my family's future. My 90'x350' garden is my starting point. The soil is mostly red clay and for the most part is dead. I hope to change that soon with the addition of 8 dump truck loads of fresh compost cooked down over this winter. So far, it's looking promising.

Red clay?! From Oklahoma?

Potassium.. it’s a trick we use here in Oklahoma.. helps to lock out some of the excess iron found in red clay. Between that and aeration, that’s been the best I’ve seen here in Oklahoma. Aeration being the biggest key, but without locking out the excess iron, everything always seemed to suffer. Can’t wait to watch the changes that occur in the clay as the soil web is finally restored.
