Migrating to Houdini
I don't know about you guys but I've recently become more and more frustrated with Maxon. I think it began with being faced with licensing issues and insane yearly subscription fees, particularly coming from a student licence (which they have messed up completely). I wanted to level up but also migrate software so i've been integrating houdini more and more and I love it! For a fraction of the cost of a yearly Maxon licence you get an incredible piece of software that is fast, incredibly flexible and procedural. Don't be afraid of Houdini - it is intimidating but start with the basics and download MOPS (mograph tools) and you'll be well on your way. This is part of a larger piece im working on.

@Christen Williams if that’s what your goal is, sure. I’m aiming at direct clients that don’t care about the tools either way. I find the more I learn in Houdini the more I can offer to the client.

@Christen Williams some coding. ChatGPT is handy but can hallucinate very occasionally. Coding makes your life easier just like expressions in After Effects but you can use it as much as you want.
3K+ Projects in less than 60 days with no website
Your Success = My Success 💪 It was hard at the beginning. I start working with @M Junaid Asghar, who joined the 100K 3D Akademy community a couple of months ago, and... He got sick. As I always said, Everything will be hard until it's easy. But after a break, he persevered. 💪 Now he's closing $3K+ projects with his 3D skills 🔥 The best part? He simply followed the proven system: ✅ Positioning as a problem solver ✅ Using the exact pitch templates from the community ✅ Showing results, not just skills If you're still struggling to land high-paying clients — you're just one system away from changing your reality. Who's next? 🚀 Drop a 🔥 if you're ready to get your first $3K+ project!

"Little" testimony
Hello everyone, just a little testimony of my journey, I hope it will help some of you to motivate yourself or at least not to get discouraged. I started from scratch several times in 3D before having clients, and I also had to work outside the field to support myself (bakery employee, shoe saleswoman, linen worker in a retirement home, and more) 🫠. It was very complicated but really allowed me to realize that I couldn't continue like this and that I seriously had to find solutions to make a living from 3D. Today I have the chance to work with long-term clients, different agencies, other freelancers and one-off clients. I'm almost booked until the summer while still having a lot of freedom over my schedule 😎. What allowed me to get started was to structure my actions as much as possible towards a single goal. And repeat the actions put in place every day. I was helped by groups like this to focus on the essentials. To get my first clients I set up daily, weekly and monthly routines that suited me, taking stock of what had worked or not. The most demanding for me in the morning, namely customer prospecting, and the most pleasant in the afternoon with practicing 3D. I got no response the first month, but then things happened quickly. I kept the same routines, even though I have clients, I continue to prospect, I learned that prospect from 6 months ago and not seeming to be interested at first can come back to you, that projects can be canceled on the big day with a client who suddenly disappears but also that the clients' decision can take a month or two. -One of the pieces of advice I will give is to not stop at the first failure or the first negative response. (I personally received in my first month of serious prospecting, zero responses out of approximately 50 messages sent…). And I still get negative responses... but it doesn't really matter, now I can also choose to say no to clients. -Another piece of advice would also be to consider other 3d artists as colleagues or allies and not as competitors. I have been lucky enough to be recommended and to recommend people to clients.

Your determination shows and is paying off. Your work looks great 👍
Need suggestions/help to deal with this problem
So whenever I am working on any personal projects, I easily get distracted. For example, currently, I am working on a Headphone Product Animation. While working, I don't know how I end up on the browser scrolling, watching tutorials, courses, and references. By now, I have watched like zillions of tuts. If there were a Guinness World Record for it, I might end up getting it.

Don’t get sucked in to long tutorials. Look for quick tips, ask chatGPT or look for the relevant assistance you need on a long tutorials and turn it off. I find many tutorials far too long and a huge distraction
