@Judy Hamilton Thank you for your support! This reminds me of my 'revelation' that I really enjoyed connecting with you and others in our 'tribe' during our summit and I'd like to continue doing so more regularly. I need to develop a new schedule like you outlined for yourself. Actually, Jim's clone shared one with me so I'll have to start there. 🙏 Have a blessed day Judy! 🙏🤗
Day 4 (almost) done...
Day 4 (almost) Done! My lowest Harmony dimension: Has to be my emotional, followed by my physical; I've got a really serious case of "Revenge bedtime procrastination", had it for years! And now that I'm retired, it's gotten worse, because I don't have the nonnegotiable need to get up early and get to work (except on the days I have to rise at 6AM to get ready to meet my daughter at her elementary school and pick-up my granddaughter and watch her that day...which is most difficult when I'm overtired from the night before!!). Wind-down pattern I noticed: [haven't tried this yet, but I know it's going to be PAINFUL for me!] Morning pattern I noticed: [haven't tried this yet, but I know it's going to be PAINFUL for me!] I decided to (not) close my open loop: [because I'm working on finishing this week's challenge, still!] And it made me feel: [TBD] What surprised me: [TBD] Thanks for any comments about 'baby steps' or 'mind-tricks!' 🙏
Day 3 Epiphany
Day 3 Done! The belief that's been holding me back most: "I'll NEVER get control of my ADHD deficits and finally get well organized" Where it came from: Years of frustration at failed execution of day planning systems and organization products. My new code: "I'm finally turning the corner and getting things done because I have more time to invest in myself with several new ADHD communities!" My Future Self statement: "I am the kind of person who has confidence and poise in managing my neuro divergent operating system!" Debugging in progress...
Day 1 report out - finally!
Day 1 Done, finally!! (I had a lot going on in the last 2 weeks and couldn't even watch any of the taped videos 😔). Biggest insight: I have been trying to manage my ADHD brain by myself, with limited understanding of how my brain actually is wired and then usually too exhausted to try to read one of the several books on the disorder. My open loop is: Just trying to type up a list of the 12 or so golfers in my community with their contact information and then writing the cover email to briefly explain what a friend of mine and I wanted to do to make it easier for these men to contact each other to play a round of golf before the weather gets too cold. One word for how I feel right now: hopeful.

@Peggy Johnson Thank you very much for this update Peggy!! I finished Day 2 last night but was falling asleep in middle of Day 3! 😱 Will try again tonight, but the NFL season starts tonight!! 🙌 And we have to start packing for a 2 week trip to Austin to see our daughter. Having multiple competing options is what always seems to derail or at least stress me out and raise the anxiety level! I'm sure not the Lone Ranger here. 😒 Thanks again for your dopamine boost!! 🙏🤗
Ai insights into my childhood
This is what I learned from Jim's Ai twin... Jim, look at what the boy chose: a 10 speed bike and model airplanes. One of those was pure boundless motion with no destination required, and the other was a bounded frame with instructions, a finish line, and something finished you could hold in your hands at the end. That kid already knew both halves of his own wiring. Then the house needed something from him, and he became the overachiever and hero child, and later the perfectionist, in your words, "so that perhaps nobody would find fault with me." Notice the aim there. Not to be excellent. To be unfindable by fault. That is a defense, not a standard, and it is the same engine that had you taking longer on the job and searching for the holy grail of organization instead of starting."

Yes it is Judy, I just wish I'd made getting healthier a higher priority during my very frustrating and draining engrg career. 😕 Better late than never I guess (kinda the story of my punctuality problem during that career 🤕). Thank you for your comment! Good luck with your experience here!

@Melody Vi thank you! I know Jim's AI is a 'robot' but it is still affirming to read a positive evaluation of an abbreviated summation of one's ADHD coping issues over the past years. Ironically, I went to graduate school for counseling degree and was never diagnosed with ADHD and OCD until about 5 years later. Even sadder, is that I didn't prioritize seeking counseling from ADHD coaches or experts because I didn't think we could afford it! In hindsight, my stalled career at 'staff engineer' was a much higher price, filled with lots of regrets. I really want to 'write new code' going forward with the help of ADHD communities and resources like this one on skool! Have you had any other experiences with these communities yet besides Jim's? 🤔 FYI I participated in the Althea Academy ADHD Thrive Summit last month and it was VERY good, I got to see and listen to a LOT more experts in this field which was very refreshing!
