What does MOVEMENT mean to YOU?
What I’ve been sharing lately is super basic—classical foundation. And I’m going to keep sharing more of it. At some point I’ll move into the more intricate movement, but I’m not rushing that. Because the deeper I go, the more I’m reminded of something… Movement isn’t just “levels.” Beginner. Novice. Advanced. Honestly, even the advanced stuff can be picked up by a beginner depending on how they feel the movement. What matters… is movement itself. And I say that because there was a time when I couldn’t move. I had a torn rotator cuff … and to be real, I still deal with it today. It’s manageable now, but years ago it was bad. I could hardly do anything. And when your body stops moving, your mind starts slipping. Discouragement. Worthlessness. Depression. All of that creeps in. So when I teach, when I share these drills, when I see you all practicing… I don’t take it lightly. Movement is a gift. Movement is expression. Movement is life. I appreciate every single one of you in here — all levels, all backgrounds … showing up… More is coming. And everything will eventually be categorized for clarity (Beginner / Advanced). But the real question underneath all of this is: What does movement mean to you? Comment below. I’d love to hear it. 🙏🏼

For me, I think movement is freedom from judgement. Alot of times, we get stuck in our own head thinking what's dope and what isn't. We seek approval from others rather than have strong convictions on how we move. I believe that the more we stay grounded with our own ideas, movements, energy, etc, the more we liberate ourselves from the things that shackles us. Just my my 2 cents 😁
🎯 Developmental Task #2: Then vs Now
Dig into your archives — post an old photo or clip from your breaking journey. In your caption, reflect on what’s changed: your mindset, your movement, or your purpose. Let the community see how far you’ve come. 🙏🏼

This was in 2021, i used to practice everyday with my crew. Over the years, I started to think about concepts that are outside of breaking such as making interesting and unorthodox shapes, I've also learned to take my time and be comfortable to not feel pressured while breaking. Level changes is also another thing that I've been thinking of these days. I hope that i can keep on going leveling every aspect of breaking.

This is the space to share who you are and why you’re here. When you drop your intro, think of it as a mini–story: 🌎 Where you’re from 👟 How long you’ve been breaking (or how you first got started) 🎵 Your favorite track to break to — the one that makes you feel invincible on the floor 🎯 Why you decided to join Foundational Methodz 🙌🏽 What you hope to learn, share, or contribute here The goal is simple: connection 🙏🏼

Hello, 🌍 I'm from Vancouver, Canada. 👟 I started breaking in 2006 (on & off) I started in highschool, at that time, i didn't know what I was good at. I tried dancing class, popping and locking wasn't it. Then there was breaking!!! At first my body was stiff with toprocks lol but when i tried learning my first freeze, turtle freeze, i knew right away this was it!!! 🎵Organ donor by DJ Shadow, such a classic song to break!! A Masterpiece! 🎯 I've decided to join because i wanted to learn from some of the best out there and pick their brains out and apply it to my artform. 🙌I would love to learn from how i can expand and go deeper into the artforms but also history of where it's coming. Thank you for reading and i I appreciate everyone here!! And please call me Jim lol.
