Transformation Thursday
Transformation is about the small changes, that over time become habits. Today I am asking you all to share your 'I used to ____________ but now I _____________' moment! I'll start! I used to back burner my own self-care regularly to focus on caring for others. Having a medically complex daughter really pulled me back down that rabbit hole at first. But now I prioritize my self-care so I can be the best me (for me and then for my family). This shows up for me when we have rough patches and hospital stays with Alex. During the last stay (and it was a rough one), I walked daily, ate healthy, and meditated in the hospital each day. It is never perfect, but it feels good to come home and not feel like my health suffered while we were focused on her. 💜 Your turn!

I used to be self-deprecating in an almost reflexive, knee-jerk way — I think as a defense mechanism. (If I am hard on myself, maybe you won't be hard on me??) The impulse is still there, but I don't default to it anymore.

Yeah! I mentioned my Peloton, but I will also add being around people. As an extrovert, I (usually) find people's company energizing. Even if I'm in a coffee shop or on a walk in a park and not actually engaging with anyone, I love being around humans :)
