Hi im Jil, a beginner and would like to shuffle again and learn crazy legs. skating means so much to me... i started outdoor in the 70's in central FL on metal wheels as an elementary school beginner and transitioned into a teen rink skater. i loved to shuffle and dance in the 80's rocking my riedells with neon pink laces and checker board wheels. i moved to GA and didn't continue skating. i tried inline skating in the 90's and never liked it, even hurt myself good a few times going down hills off Ponce. i still had my old skates and learned years later you could swap to outdoor wheels but didn't like hitting twigs and pebbles. I went to a rink and felt like i didn't belong so i gave it up. i still dreamed of skating but thought i would never again so i sold my beloved riedells last year. they were special to me because as i was dying from pneumonia in the ICU at 13 my mom said we'll get you whatever you want if you'll get well. i pointed to the letters and spelled out R-I-E-D-E-L-L. recently i couldn't sleep and was up at 3am surfing social media and that's when i saw the ad for roller fit. i couldn't believe me eyes, not only could i start from the basics but it was nearby. i literally cried because i had sold my skates thinking there was no skating in my future... but you know what, maybe better skates will come along. i just attended my first class an hour ago and HOOKED. i'm a little wobbly, need to build up my leg strength again and balance but ready for march bootcamp!!!! i love coach glo's attitude and strict rules of form. I'm so excited to make new friends and have FUN. All praise to Yah and thank you so much for this class putting me back on wheels, where i belong!
