I don't mean to diss on anyone but there's definitely a lot of components not ideal for this video to get views. That being said, how do you make this video better? Let me know by posting a comment below!
The subtitles don’t add anything additional to the video, conversations being had that are relevant to WHY the viewer clicked on the video in the first place are not subtitled but parts of the clip that could have been taken out entirely, are subtitled. The climax of the clip comes and goes and there is no real incentive or purpose at all for the viewer to have invested their time into watching until the end. This would probably not be a well performing video, there is a version of this video that has everything necessary to go viral but the execution is not there. Overall the video has to have been rushed out or styled by a novice editor, fortunately for us we can use this as a perfect example of what not to do and how we can apply this to our own videos now and in the future.
I honestly didn’t mean to get views right now but somehow winding up with relatively a lot. Learning from this, I want to have more long form content for people to watch on my channel. I don’t want to market without offering something of value.
The reason I ask this is because we might be thinking the same thing or completely different things. I’ll write my opinion below but feel free to explain any thoughts you have too even if it’s repetitive, that way we know what the majority of the group is going to work on.
Without a doubt you’re either specialized in a niche category with a large audience like speedrunning or hyper competitive fps games, or you’ve specialized in a category of content creation like comedic story telling, variety streaming, skits, "one on one" chats, etc. What I’m trying to say is you have to specialize in something, what that something consists of is ultimately your most important decision. Make something so unique to you that nowhere else will your audience be able to find anything like it.
So instead of focusing on the story of the video itself, we’ll be studying why this video is so good at telling a story. This video has 13 million views and it’s just about an old man stuck on a bush, so comment below and let’s see what he does right and how you think you can improve this video.
@Sulaiman Anuwar the whose line is it anyway reference was a perfect comparison on how the dialogue is paced! You never know what’s about to transpire, the edits indeed are stimulating to the point of being disorienting. Leaves you wanting more the moment it’s over!
