Married at 20 , When being a stay at home mom raising six kids for 25 years and a husband decides to take off and claims he divorced in another state at 30 years, which have no documentation for. Would I be able to collect benefits early? He is nine years older than me . with him leaving as the provider of the family I had to step up into his provider shoes with little flexible jobs and continue caregiving for our special needs Son.

I still don’t understand why social security will not give me back pay, my husband died in 2017 we were separated. I didn’t know until 2024 I was suppose to get widow’s benefits. I applied and got my first check in February of 2025. Why do they give people that never worked back pay and will not give me back pay even though I am still working I need my benefits from my job. Plus I love my job and what I do. I am still entitled to the back pay.
