help me improve
Hey all! I am learning so much as I go, here are two nail sets I've done recently. Please help me get better. Both are builder gel, both are hard gel. I work independently, so I don't really get feedback from anybody but my clients.

first way to improve is to work on training your eyes to see imperfections that can improve. Before I help you by pointing out things I see What are a few things you see that could be better?

great observations on your work. I agree with all of it. It does look pretty good but from the shot you shared the line of light shows that there are some imperfections. If it's the base the finish filing will correct that. If it's the polish and or top coat like you said it could be flash curing every nail before moving on to the next finger will absolutely freeze it in place preventing the pooling. As for the thickness after you have a great foundation, sometimes using a different bush that's not the brush that comes I the bottle helps your application be more precise. SO like using a gel brush for application may help , the trick is to saturate the bristles with the color to get a smooth application. you may need to do more coats because it will be thinner leaving it a little more translucent. but I always say more thin coats is better that fewer thick coats when it come to structure.
Lifting. Questions for how to change up service.
Question for you all, I've had some clients experience lifting when using Tack and Jimmygel. Their nails are getting longer, is this the sign it's time to switch to hard gel? It's only annoying because it takes my service longer to clean all the lifting up. The polish has stayed on, it's just the lifting underneath. I'm also taking it as a sign that the nails are getting long enough that they need a little more structure than I was doing when they were a shorter length. Is this the right way to think?

This is a great conversation! So first I believe everyone is in titled to their opinion. Unfortunately sometimes it’s an opinion that has been made without true knowledge of the subject. As nail professionals (we should be showing up as such) you know all that goes into a single service and what you should charge to make a profit from that service so that you can continue to grow your business. Understanding “why” you price your services their prices will help you not be bothered by comments like these. Let’s keep this conversation going!!!!!

@Betsy Deitte this part is so true and still so real. It’s actually a very unfortunate truth about some nail salons.
Nail Tech Visibility: Getting Found
For those of you that have said "I don’t know how to get clients when I’m brand new." Here are some actions you can take right away to get found as a nail tech. 1 Post consistently on Instagram/TikTok (before/after, process, tips). 2 Optimize your profile (bio, location, booking link, niche). 3 Set up a Google Business Profile for local discovery. 4 Collaborate with hairstylists, lash techs, estheticians for referrals. comment GET FOUND if you are going to try these actions, and let me know which one is the most challenging. 5 Try my 7-day posting challenge to kickstart consistency. I have a 7 Day posting challenge that my clients have done and have seen the benefits just after the 7 days. But first do the first 4 things then come back and comment "Ready" so I can share the challenge with you.

Hey nail techs who’s up for this challenge? If not please share why? I’m super curious.

@Betsy Deitte it’s definitely a process. But from your personal experience would you say Google was worth setting up?? Me personally, I have received so many new clients constantly from google. The key is to have the right information and reviews so that you could be found by new possible clients.
