The Chant for Saturday 3pm Yeliga–Zakpata Protection Chant Yeliga eh! — Speak through the water! Ancestors rise — walk with us now! Zakpata eh! — Hold this ground! Earth below — make us strong! Protect this land — from war and harm! Guard our blood — keep us from storm! No evil walks — where we now stand! No harm shall rise — upon this land! Yeliga! (Lift us!) Zakpata! (Root us!) We call! — We feed! — We awaken! By blood — by earth — we are protected! Ase! Ase! Ase! Closing: This land is covered. This land is guarded. This land remembers us.And we remember it.

Spiritual Exercise
Speaking With the Ancestors Through the Elements Class, today we will practice a simple African spiritual exercise to strengthen our connection with the ancestors and the natural forces that guide us. In African traditions, wisdom comes through nature, silence, and ancestral presence. This practice will help you learn to listen. Materials Needed • A bowl of water • A small stone • A leaf or herb • A white cloth or piece of paper • A quiet space Each item represents a sacred force: Water – Spirit and the ancestors Stone – Earth and stability Leaf – Life and healing White cloth/paper – Purity and messages Step 1 – Opening the Space Sit quietly and place the items in front of you. Say this invocation slowly: Ancestors who walked before me, Those whose names are known and unknown, Come sit with me in wisdom. Let the earth speak. Let the water remember. Let the wind carry truth. I open my spirit to learning. Step 2 – The Stone Question Hold the stone in your hand and ask: “What lesson do I need to understand this week?” Close your eyes and breathe slowly. Step 3 – Water Reflection Place the stone into the bowl of water and watch the ripples. Observe what happens. Strong ripples may mean change is moving around you. Water that settles quickly can mean peace or patience. If emotion rises in you, it may be healing taking place. Just observe without forcing meaning. Step 4 – The Leaf Message Hold the leaf or herb and ask: “What must I grow or heal in my life right now?” Write the first thought that comes to you on the white paper. In many African traditions, the first thought is the whisper of the ancestors. Step 5 – Closing Gratitude End by saying: Ancestors, I thank you. Walk with me in wisdom. May my steps honor those who came before me. Reflection Questions Please share your experience with the class: 1. What message did you feel or receive? 2. What emotion came up during the exercise? 3. What action will you take this week based on what you learned?

1. When I threw the stone in the water I got strong ripples, which means change is moving around me. I do believe many changes are happening around me as I am exploring my spiritual path, and honoring my ancestors more. 2. The emotion I felt during the exercise was peace and calmness. 3. My leaf message was: Stop thinking you don’t have the power to do healing work. From that message, I need to grow more self confidence. This week, I will work on increasing my self confidence through meditation, ancestral guidance, and affirmations.
Home Work For This Weekend
Before Sunday at 8 PM, post your response in the group. 1. What is one habit or mindset that is currently slowing your growth? 2. What specific action will you take this weekend to correct it? 3. What does spiritual discipline look like in your daily life right now? Keep your response clear and honest no long essays needed.

1. Self Doubt 2. Build confidence through ancestral guidance and prayer. Start meditating more so I can stay aligned with my spiritual path. 3. Incorporating ancestral prayer and offerings into your daily life. This shouldn’t feel like a task; it should come naturally. Listening to your inner voice/soul so you can be guided and aligned towards your correct spiritual path.
