Sunflower Microgreens: Big Seeds, Big Flavor, Big Sales
If you want a crop that sells itself, sunflower microgreens are a great choice. They’re nutty, crunchy, and ready in about 10 days. Here’s how to grow them: 1. Soak seeds for 12 hours in cool water. 2. Sow them thickly in a shallow tray with drainage holes. 3. Cover for 3 days to germinate, then uncover and give them light. 4. Water from the top at first, then switch to bottom watering to keep them clean. Customers love them on sandwiches, in salads, or just as a snack. Their size makes them eye-catching at markets and easy to handle when packaging. Have you tried growing sunflowers yet? How did your first tray turn out?

@Phyllis Robinson We've been harvesting closer to 8 days recently. It can vary between seed lots & environment.

Big Changes Coming to the Group — Read This
Hey everyone, I wanted to let you all know about an important change happening with this group. After July 6th, Microgreens for Profit will be closing down. But don’t worry, this is part of a bigger plan to make sure all the resources, coaching, and support are in one place, not scattered across different groups. The truth is, I’ve been running multiple groups, but the free group here has been pulling me away from where I can help people grow their businesses faster — inside Microgreens Business Coaching (MBC). So here’s what’s happening: ✅ Starting today, I’m inviting everyone here to join the MBC group for just $5/month — this gives you access to the community area, two live calls every month, and some free trainings. ✅ If you want the full coaching experience, tools, all classrooms, and weekly calls, you can upgrade inside the group but the $5 tier gets your foot in the door. ✅ On July 6th, this group closes. After that, all content, support, and conversations will happen inside MBC only. This keeps everything organized, delivers more value to the people who are serious, and helps me focus my time on getting everyone real results. Next Steps: ➡️ Join MBC here: MBC $5 Join Link ➡️ Keep an eye out for reminders over the next few days ➡️ After July 6th, this group will be shut down Thanks to everyone who’s been part of this journey so far, excited to have one strong community moving forward. Let’s grow like pros!

@Josh Beard Yeah, we considered this last year and actually did shut the group down for probably about a month. But, after discussing a bit more, we weren't ready to completely leave people out who were still trying to get started, so we re-opened it and tried to make both groups work side by side. The reality is — keeping two groups running takes a ton of energy, and it waters down the support for growers who are serious about building a real, profitable microgreens business. We’ve realized we can help way more when everything is focused in one place. It’s not about pushing people out — it’s about making sure those who want the deeper support, tools, and training actually get it, without distractions or confusion between groups. Appreciate you sticking with the journey through all the changes & hope to see you over in the Microgreens Business Coaching group if you choose to join.
Wood Racks
Quick question here. I am thinking about building a wood rack/table to grow microgreens in a high tunnel/greenhouse. I cannot remember the ideal spacing between each shelf. Can someone here remind me what this is? Maybe, I should look in the classroom. I don't remember if it is mentioned there or not. Thanks!

Spacing Depends on lighting.... Are you planning to add lights? Or exclusively use natural lighting?

@Josh Beard gotcha - in that case I'd recommend something closer to 15" apart to allow ample light to reach the entire tray. For using 1 T8 light we do 11" & for 2 T5's we do 9" spacing. Offhand, there is another grower, Michael Bergonzi, who grows in exclusively in greenhouses, but he focuses on wheatgrass and sunflowers. https://www.wheatgrassgreenhouse.com/
