Pequeña palabras están tan importante
Yaprendi que hay un gran diferencia entre “Le di un mordisco A mi pizza” y “le di un mordisco DE mi pizza”. Pensé que de mi pizza significa “I’m taking a bite of my pizza” pero en este contexto, significa “you gave him/her a bite from your pizza”. I had to have ChatGPT give me a little lesson that. 😅

@Gary Cooper Nice find on the le. It definitely can be tricky. I hope I’m not overstepping here but, also another one that used to trip me up and I thought it would be cool to share is the use of the subjunctive with anytime you express and emotion with Qué something. And el significado instead of La significa. So a sentence might look a little better like this, Que loco que la palabra de cambie el significado de la frase por completo!

¡¿Qué onda güey?!
¡Qué onda Yaprendices! This week we're exploring español de México! Let's get into it! Let's start with some of my favorite phrases in Mexican Spanish! ¿Qué onda? = Qué pasa = what's up. I love it because it's literally like "what's the wave"- which feels is cool. By the way- "onda" and "ola" are both words that mean "wave" in Spanish. Güey - dude / guy- usually pronounced without the "g" sound- more like "wey" Mande - a response like, "yes?" No manches - be for real!? Stop playin'!! Qué padre - How cool! / That's dope! Chavo/ chava - guy / girl If you are curious about more common Mexican expressions- definitely check this out! Your challenge this week is to comment below your favorite Mexican Spanish phrases in the community. Let's see if you can get a conversation going around it en español!
