Raised beds filled
Got both of my raised beds finished and filled them up this evening. Cardboard, straw, sticks/branches, and soil. Have to add the castings and fertilizer tomorrow. Then we should be ready. Am I missing anything?

I would say water them in so they can settle. And then do it some more. My raised beds are slowly sinking and so I am trying to add more dirt as stuff is growing. It is not ideal.
Alaska fish fertilizer
I was filling up a 2 liter with rain water and the Alaska fish fertilizer and I dipped my hand in to help fill. Do not do this. My hand smelled horrible for the rest of the night, kids ran from me, even used vinegar, hand soap, even Clorox wipes to no avail. Be careful out there!

@Mohammad Irtaza Tafheem the weird part, when I was using it to water, it didn’t smell so bad. Then the kids came outside and were like dad what have you done????

Spring wildflowers before and after
I “chaos” sowed wildflower seeds in the fall and this is where we are today. Giddy up! 🥳🥳🥳 So far, the arroyo lupine are only ones blooming, but it’s all so bushy and big! Have you tried growing wildflowers? Share your story & pics if you have ‘em. First few pics are from Nov ‘25, the last couple are from Feb ‘26.

@Dennis Wichter with my off color green thumb, pretty confident mine will be stunted. No worries lol!
👍 True or 👎 False
Most gardeners don’t fail from lack of skill or effort, they fail because the soil isn’t built to keep working when gardening drive fades.
