My 19 year old daughter is an artist and after completing a one year art fundamentals diploma, she is not sure what she wants to do next. She’s dragging her feet finding a part time or full time job (the casual job she has has no shifts to give her currently). She loves shopping and is very creative. Her room is full of un-opened cute things she has bought but doesn’t need. Maybe creating gift baskets would be a good business to start. I would love to help her with them too. I don’t want to scare her off coming at her like a freight train - which I tend to do when excited so I’ll give it some time. Any ideas on how I could suggest this to her would be welcome. Of course, any ideas that parents have for grown children are usually met with an eye roll!

So, I expanded my teaching career in 1994 by launching a comprehensive business workshop for the gift basket industry. It immediately expanded into an additional day and has been offered across the United States of America as well as abroad. Seeing the great need for professional training in all aspects of the gift basket industry, I formally established The Institute of Gift Basket Design for that purpose. It is the only training institution during that time in the USA which is exclusively devoted to providing professional development and continual training of gift basket designers and business owners in this industry. (Other training organizations followed.) I continue to be a much sought after instructor with a reputation for setting a comfortable and professionally fun atmosphere where attendees are relaxed and excited about their new forming businesses in gift baskets. I have been consistently rated as being patient, exceptionally informative, and motivating by so many of my students and graduates. Those ratings were marked as "Excellent", and in today's world it would be 5 Stars (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)😁.💚

As I develop this group over the next several days, I will start by introducing who I am in a 5-Part Series. This network is all about you, but you may want to know what qualifies me to create such a group. So, here goes... I have lectured at numerous conferences, seminars and workshops over a 35 year entrepreneurial span. I started in August 1991 with the company name "Gift Baskets By Saundra". I became a current faculty member an International gift basket convention called "Jubilee’97 Convention" in that was held in Atlanta, Georgia. I served on the faculty of Prince George's Community College and the Institute of Gift Basket Design in the State of Maryland, USA. Additionally, I was on the faculty of the State of Maryland's Vocational Rehabilitation Program. I also established two international associations for gift basket professionals and creative small business entrepreneurs. Next, I will share more about the professional associations I founded.
