Have you built self-care into your gameplan for the week?
I often hear, "I am too busy for __________." This could be meal prep, movement, mindful time, or even pausing and taking a few deep breaths. If we treat these things as optional, then we will always have a reason to not follow through. What if these things are scheduled on your calendar, and are treated as nonnegotiables? ๐Ÿค” You plan other appointments and tasks around these items, meaning they are a priority. Have you tried that? What else has worked for all of you to keep these healthy habits front of mind? Share your thoughts on the calendar idea and your ideas and maybe we can help someone here who needs some support!

I book the time on my calendar like it's an appointment. I also know that my future self will be very unhappy if I don't hold myself to that appointment. If my inner voice of judgement tries to tell me all the reasons not to take the time, I just have a conversation with her directly (as strange as that may sound). I also always remember my 80yo self and know that she would want me to do this (whatever that is)... and that there is always time to take care of yourself. You know you will if things "hit the fan" with your health. Then, of course, your health will be a priority when you really need it. I remind myself that my health needs it now! "I am worthy." "I am important too."

I hope all of you are having a great start to your weekend! I am sitting here waiting for my son and his friends who are having a really cool immersive gaming experience for Connorโ€˜s birthday. It is hard to believe that our little peanut is turning 12 years old tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜ณ Whenever I watch him with all of his friends, I think back to when I was a kid, when movement, play, and laughter were the thread through everything. Somewhere along the way, so many people forget the importance of these 3 things. So my question for you today is what are you doing this weekend to incorporate movement, play and laughter? ๐Ÿ˜

Trying new quick workout routines that aren't rigid... just fun and what my body wants. Yet, I have two teen boys who have new bikes and love to play ping pong with their parents, so we will get some of those in too. There's a lot of loud play with ping pong matches. LOL!
1st Community Challenge Starts Monday
We took a poll last week and the consensus was for a nutrition focused 1st challenge - so this is how it will work... Next week (starting Monday the 9th), the challenge, if you choose to accept ๐Ÿ˜, is to share one healthy meal picture each day. Bonus if you also share a recipe with the group! When we say healthy, we are looking for meals free of processed ingredients (sugar, flours, seed oils) - so think quality protein, veggies and fruits, and healthy fats. No need to go Top Chef plating here, so don't overthink it (you know who you are ๐Ÿ˜†). All the top participants (posting daily) will be entered to win a prize. Options will include a private 1:1 coaching session or a gift card. Our team will be playing along, and sharing examples of our meals as well. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone is cooking up next week!
