What I'm learning after one week of having my community
I thought opening a community would be mostly about getting people in. But after the first week, I'm realizing it's much more about creating a space people actually want to return to. I'm learning that : - you don't need to fill the space with content for it to feel alive - a simple question can create more connection than a perfect crafted post - people engage at different rhythms, and that's okay And maybe the most importantly, you have to give the community enough room to become itself. I'm still learning obviously. That's probably my biggest takeaway from week one. What's something your ccommunity taught you in its first few weeks that you didn't expect?

@Brenda Rigney thank you ! I’m definitely learning a lot in these early stages. I’m trying to stay curious, pay attention to what’s working, and let the community evolve from there.

@Iyaraa Iam hey Lyaraa , Week two has been really interesting! I’m noticing more comments, likes, and especially the first little member to member conversations, which has been really encouraging. My biggest realization is that I don’t need to keep creating more to keep the room active...especially when the whole idea behind The Room to Breathe is not to give women one more thing to keep up with. And a fun little win 😊 I spotted The Room to Breathe in a skool fb ad this week! That was pretty exciting to see!
I got my first paid YES for She Owns the Feed today. 🎉
Last night, I officially moved the community to a freemium model (and this morning I posted an official WE’RE DOING IT video in the community) And less than 24 hours later, someone upgraded. What makes this one feel especially exciting is that this isn’t someone who’s been deeply embedded in my existing community or following everything I’ve been building for years. She saw what I was creating, saw the value, and said yes. For those of us building communities, I feel like that first paid yes hits differently. It’s one thing to believe there’s value in the room you’re creating. It’s another thing entirely when someone else sees it and chooses to invest in being part of it. So I’m celebrating this one. 🥳 Freemium model: officially validated by sale No.1! Now we build from here.

Congrats @Jennifer Jayne , thats really nice!
To all the community builders here, What is the one thing that made your community feel like home?
I have been reflecting lately on what truly makes a community feel like a soul family rather than just a group of people in the same space. Was it a single conversation. A ritual. The way someone welcomed you on your very first day. A moment when you felt truly seen. I would love to hear your story. What was the moment, big or small, that made you feel like you belonged. And if you are the one building a community right now, what are you doing intentionally to create that same feeling for others? Sharing this because I believe the answers we give each other here are often more valuable than anything we could plan on our own.

Hey @Sophia Soul😊 For me, it’s the onboarding. When I feel seen from the beginning, and I know I can come back whenever I’m ready without feeling behind, that’s when a community starts to feel like home.
What do you call yourself?
Entrepreneur, founder, solopreneur, something else? I'm curious what you call yourself or which identity you resonate with the most because I always struggle with what to call folks.

One of the best ways to grow is to support each other on Skool. So let's do that 👇 ** 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗸𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲...𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗲𝘁𝗰. Drop a comment with: 1. Your Skool community name + link 2. Who it's for (𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲) 3. What members get when they join Then scroll through and join 3 communities that genuinely interest you. Not to game the algorithm. Not for a follow back. Because you're actually curious and want to connect with people building cool things. Let's help each other get those wins 🙌

@Brenda Rigney I just wanted to share a little update... I launched my community this week!🥳 Hi everyone 👋🏽 The Room to Breathe 💕 A calm community for women carrying the invisible mental load. It's a place to pause, put things down for a little while, and connect with women who understand what it feels like to carry so much behind the scenes. I'd love to have a few thoughtful women help shape the room. If this sounds like something you've been looking for, I'd love to welcome you. https://www.skool.com/the-room-to-breathe-9179/about?ref=d5eff260bc0b4fd5b843913cb4270e78
