Staking and pruning tomatoes..
What are everyone's thoughts on the best way to stake and prune tomatoes ? I get the feeling that some you tube videos are a bit gimmicky, in regard to single stem vines growing 10 feet tall and needing a small scissor lift to harvest? Maybe double leaders perhaps? Also I've cut some great sturdy 6-8ft bamboo stakes.. Just wondering how close to push them into the plant.. probably just beside the current root ball ??? This is my first real effort trying hard.. my first attempt sprawled all over the ground, had the wettest summer on record then got hammered by Cyclone Gabrielle.. My soil is so dead, not a worm to be found, but I refuse to use chemical fertilisers.. I'm going to top dress with an organic fertiliser and some more decent compost soon..

@Marty Ware That is true. I'm searching for the original video now.

Okay, I took this the day I got the keys, March 14 2023. Warning-it’s quite long. Sorry but I also moved a bit quickly. I haven't posted the 2nd video because it's not food related.
Local Saltwater Creek
Good morning all. Not gardening related, but this is one of my favourite spots to walk my dogs early in the morning. Sorry for the glitchy end of the 2nd video, I encountered too much shrubbery.

@Kayleen West No, thank goodness. We just have lots of Eastern Browns, which is bad enough.
Little walk and chat on the farm
I wasn’t going to put these up but I sent to Marty as I figured he would appreciate a better look at Marty’s Pride. But Marty said share so if you want to watch and listen feel free if not Marty has videos on the tube you can get better info from and not waste time on these

Looks like an idyllic piece of paradise. I also love seeing puppers. 😍
Japanese onions
I have a bit of a hyperfixation on perennial alliums. This is a current favourite with its beautiful flowers

I'm not too familiar with those. Midsummer herbs is where I got my Skirret from, I was impressed with their service.

Looks great. I'm jealous of that Babaco. This is the 3rd property I have had one, and I couldn't find a really good spot for it, so my fruit was only half size and most blew off when they were green. I'll keep working on it, however.
