I am a nutrition health coach specializing in the GI microbiome. I am a health explorer, experimenter, and boundary pusher in my own life. I meet my clients where they’re at, and tune into them deeply. (I read this and feel like it’s not enough. A little bit imposter syndrome, a little bit like I should be doing more).

@Rebecca T Dickson imbalances in the gut (especially in the small intestine) along with insulin resistance, account for 80% of chronic illness in the US. People can have tremendous control over these two areas, with lifestyle and dietary changes. People should care about this because the loss of keystone microbes allows for overgrowth of pathogens (not just in our guts but in the soil too). When pathogenic species overgrow, we end up with leaky gut (among other problems) and circulating toxins in our bloodstream,. Downstream this leads to a huge variety of illnesses, that don’t, at first glance, seem like “gut issues”. Is this the type of description I should be leading with? It’s way over simplified but is kinda the nutshell. Unfortunately most of my clients already have leaky gut, IBS, SIBO, and a wide range of symptoms, so they are looking for help.

I secretly worked on the world’s first - and only (look it up) - sweary journal for peri- and menopausal women. And let me tell you, I had a fucking blast... Anyway, it’s 124 pages of screaming into the ether. Anything you need to get off your chest. Like… - Drawing the asshole of the day - Detailing a WTF moment - Celebrating your awesomeness (or the fact that you didn’t throat punch your boss) - High-fiving forgetfulness - because you don’t have to DO what you don’t remember - Making giant lists of things you don’t give a fuck about anymore - That one gratitude prompt that’s actually honest - chocolate, Cheetos and after-school activities that keep the kids away - I even included RAGE pages No toxic positivity. No “choose joy.” No pretending hot flashes are empowering. Just a place to be as honest and profane as menopause actually feels. And it’s out now. If you grab one, let me know what you think. I want to hear which prompts make you belly laugh and which make you want to burn shit down.

I noticed my body screaming that what I have is not complete and not a claim. So I tried something new. I see the restrictions and Transform them. Showing you that what you thought was out of reach is right there for you to claim.

Finding the padding: I am a nutrition health coach specializing in the GI microbiome. I am a health explorer, experimenter, and boundary pusher in my own life. I strive to create art out of my daily life. (I don’t expect my clients to do as I do, and I let them know that, because I do a lot of weird shit. Still apologizing. Also self deprecation is one of my main social strategies… I guess a protective way to get in front of criticism.). I spend too much time helping my clients weed through misinformation and overwhelming nutrition information, unfortunately. But I meet them where they’re at, and tune into them deeply. I don’t want to spend all of my time debunking other people’s work, though. (People pleasing. I don’t want to do a lot of things but I feel like I do them because that’s why they’re paying me). I had a final straw moment when I worked for a very well known “biohacker”, whom I had admired for a decade. (Now this makes me sick! I’m still angry!). That experience is shaping how I have been moving forward… A little vague because it still feels cautious. I have definitely been a people pleaser for far too long. (admittedly I still am. I can name it now, but I see how deeply rooted this is).
