I Want To Make The Paid Membership Worth Paying For
There are now more than 100 people in this community, but I know many of you are happy to read, watch and lurk in the background. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But I want the paid Pétanque Coach membership to become something completely different. I don't want to ask you to pay $19 a month simply to watch more videos. There are already hundreds of my videos available free on YouTube. If I'm asking you to pay, I need to give you something genuinely worth paying for. So I'm planning to introduce much more actual COACHING into the paid membership. I'm currently considering: 🎥 Weekly LIVE coaching sessions on Zoom A chance to actually talk pétanque with me rather than simply watch me on YouTube. Technique, tactics, psychology, practice, problems with your own game and whatever we are working on that week. 🧠 Boule Mind sessions Confidence, pressure, nerves, concentration, routines, recovering from mistakes and understanding why we can throw perfectly well one minute and seemingly forget how to play the next. 🎯 Technique Clinics Send me footage of your own shooting or pointing and I'll analyse selected videos so we can all learn from them. 🧩 Pétanque IQ Real tactical situations. Shoot? Point? Promote? Move the jack? Defend? Attack? I'll show you the situation, let you make the decision and then we'll break down the options together. 📓 Improve Your Game Structured exercises, practice ideas, challenges and potentially a Pétanque Journal system so you're not simply throwing hundreds of boules and hoping you improve. 🎙 Inside The Game I've started experimenting with something I'm particularly excited about. A while ago I wore a microphone throughout one of my own matches and recorded what I was actually thinking — the tactical decisions, what I could see, why I chose a particular shot and my reaction to what happened afterwards. I want to develop this further so we can analyse real pétanque decisions in real situations, rather than discussing tactics in theory.

@Kevin ORourke in future if you organise 2 to 3 days F2F training, I will join it for sure. OBUT does such trainings, but I want to learn it from you. I have seen how clearly you explain, I am sure F2F training will bring me to next level. I strongly believe in that

@Paul Cornwell that would be really nice. I might need some advice where to book AirBnb around that time. Thanks
Coaches corner tactic review
Coaches Corner - My analysis of tactics during this game in Aubenas National Pètanque 2026 https://youtu.be/UVRq7mG9P64 Here is my first tactical review of a game I filmed yesterday at the Top 300 Veterans in Aubenas. I think it showcases an interesting situation at 11/10 and the choices that led to the eventual demise of one team. Is this the sort of analysis you want or something different. What would your choice of tactics be here. Vote below or add a comment

Depends upon the shooting talent of the opponent. If the opponent is a good shooter, I will shoot the boule in the front. If I opt to point and even if I make a point, he will shoot mine and probably make a carreau. He will make more points. On the other hand if the opponent is less good at shooting, I will point and he might miss to shoot my boule. It will be advantageous for me I think. But enough of my experiments haha. If there is a boule at the front, don’t hesitate just shoot and remove the noise from the game. This is what many great players do!

What do you think of this sort of review. Does it help your game to notice tiny differences in the best players

He looks as if he is shooting on the right side of boule but he hits in the middle of the boule in the matches
Analysis of Emmanuel Pointing Technique
Emmanuel kindly sent me a video which I have cropped to focus on his technique rather than the outcome of the boule thrown. If you would like a similar analysis send me your video and I’ll give a quick breakdown. This video is unlisted on YouTube so only members with the link can view. Let me know what you think https://youtube.com/shorts/J66nqYC45hQ?is=mvEG2fom-srciMG1
Detailed analysis, thanks Coach. Emmanuel is playing calm and composed
