Enjoying the warmer weather in Boise
The last few weeks have been rainy/windy. As the weather warms up, I'm doing more and more headlights. I do have vapor, so I have been able to do a bunch even in the rain, however it's much quicker using stay clear on a nice day. Today, I did 5 vehicles. 4 restorations and 1 new car ceramic. Stay motivated and keep working hard everyone!

Your post is relevant to me because I'm starting up business in rainy Hawaii. It's been raining for two weeks straight. You're saying you can do vapor even on rainy days? Does it need to be dry when you apply it? How long does it last compared to UV coating? Would vapor be considered a lower tier option compared to UV?

2nd Restoration
Finally got my second set done. This is my daughter's car. They were in embarrassingly horrible shape so I couldn't wait to get them cleaned up for her. I learned several good things on these: 1. I started with 800 grit and it wasn't cutting it. I didn't have 600, but I did have 400 so I went there and it worked. 2. I also learned that 400 leaves some good scratches that I thought I had eliminated, but after finishing with 4000, I could still see them. 3.I learned that going back and resending them through all the grits isn't that big a deal and the results were much better. 4.I learned that these little discs don't really last more than 1 set of lights. I tried using my first set of discs and I think that hurt me. By that, I mean the 'used' discs weren't able to really erase the scratches of the 400 grit, but when I used a new 800 it worked better to remove the 400 grit scratches. In other words, saving discs isn't worth it! I'm just gonna toss them after one set of lights. Let me know if my conclusions are off. But, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. PS - try to ignore the horrible, and pealing, paint protective film on the bumper. It's how the car came...

Protecting the UV coating while it dries
Aloha from Hawaii everyone! Here on the big island, there is a lot of rain. I understand that it takes awhile for the UV coating to cure and that it's not supposed to get wet for 24 hrs. That will be challenging to accomplish for me in my mobile start-up. Has anyone developed a method to protect the headlights from rain while the coating dries? Or have any other thought or suggestions. They would be much appreciated. Thank you!

How much do you want to make?
You are in complete control of how far you take this business. The reality is that about 99% of people doing headlight restoration treat it like a hobby. They do a few cars here and there and never push it any further. But we want you to be the 1%. There are several people in this niche who have turned headlight restoration into serious, life-changing income. This business can absolutely produce $2,000+ per week if the right things are in place. If you're trying to level up, drop a comment and tell me specifically what you're struggling with. And don’t just say “I need more customers.” Tell me the real issue, like: - You have a hard time talking to people - You don’t have a website - You don’t know how to price jobs - You’re nervous approaching dealerships - You don’t know how to get repeat work Let’s actually break down what’s holding you back and figure out why you’re not at $2,000 per week yet — and what we can change to get you there.

One thing I could potentially see holding me back is undulating and feeling ambivalent about my pricing. I'm sure I will learn more as I go through the modules as well.
