Hello thanks for accepting me into those community! I’m glad to be here with likeminded people. I’m a Canadian missionary serving in the southern Philippines the past 20 years. I was once almost ambushed by rebels in the mountains and that cause me to more prepared to protect my family and other missionary teams we host. I’ve did a VIP protection type course, got some guns and have a personal gym for martial arts at our center. I run a woman and children’s drug rehab/ discipleship center so it’s my desire to train our students so they can protect themselves and their families. So I’m here to learn together.

Hi John, my names Jeffrey by the way, the main ministry we do is Adult and Teen Challenge Philippines. We host outreach teams from YWAM (Youth with a Mission) from time to time. The city I live in is relatively safe but we need to exercise caution when we go to other areas in the Southern Philippines there is the threat of kidnapping for ransom and if you can’t pay they behead you. A couple of Canadians were beheaded a few years ago. One of my concerns is when we will be rescuing women from prostitution that their pimps or syndicates may try to find them. My background in martial arts is Wushu (Chinese martial arts) I learned when I was younger in Canada by a great teacher. I also practices some Muay Thai. Would love to have training in Jujitsu as it’s helpful for teaching women how to get away from attackers. We did a basic seminar for young Muslim women who were taken advantage of by family members here. I’m starting a business to sustain our ministry to sell security products and will begin manufacturing body armor next year. My concern now is to ensure my family’s safety doing that line of work, this is what is on my mind lately. Sorry my message is so long, thanks for listening!
