The big blind is almost always going to call the extra .20 to play. You will have looser players call with connectors and other subpar hands too at that amount. If .30 is your standard preflop raise maybe just bad luck but Consider making all premiums .75-1.20 to go. Taking the blinds is better than losing your stack IMO.
