Why I stopped talking about âAI toolsâ with clients
At the beginning, when I spoke to business owners, I used to say things like âI can build you AI automationsâ âI use tools like n8n, Retell and othersâ Most of them looked interested, then disappeared. When I paid attention, I realize they were asking completely different questions in their head ⢠âWill this reduce my workload or add more chaosâ ⢠âWill this help us close more businessâ ⢠âWho will manage this when you are not aroundâ So I changed my conversations. Instead of starting with tools, I started with situations. For example âYou mentioned you are chasing leads manually, how many enquiries do you get per week, and how many of them ever receive a second follow upâ Once we had the real number, I could show what an AI system would do there, and what that extra conversion could be worth. Same skills, same tech in the background, but everything shifted when I stopped selling âAIâ and started solving very normal business problems.
