ID Apps make mistakes
I smashed it, NO Lavender stain. A while later, I doubled checked to confirm. Just moisture making paper transparent in sunlight. Two fresh specimens growing near where they were in Autumn. Like many Floridian species, Just bloom whenever conditions feel right, there aren’t seasons here in the traditional sense.

What would you start?
If you knew you were about to have a lot more land to plant stuff what would you plant? What would you start winter sowing now?

This is one of the best questions to spark hopes & dreams of the heart. I would love to create a food forest. I would love to be the caretaker of a botanical garden! I would include mostly natives. An activity-nature center for visitors to enjoy. Some U-pick areas to generate enough income to pay the land taxes. Perhaps a few acres of community gardens so others can grow their food too.

Underground Yellow Jackets
Luckily I only got stung once. I knew my curiosity and enthusiasm to investigate this opportunity was risky business. I remain perfectly motionless when they swarm me. One bumped into my arm and defended its territory. - I called them Hornets in the video. - They’re Yellow Jackets.

I returned to the ‘Crime Scene’ today to observe how the Yellow Jackets are rebuilding. They definitely decided to stay. I tied a red flag onto a nearby branch to mark the area.
