At a point in time, every person on the tools gets overwhelmed, and stressed. The phone keeps ringing, emails keep coming, and these are important things that require attention. Try and work and do all these admin tasks....not going to end well...your going to forget a step, forget a tool, etc. Been there done that... But wort of all, if you don't answer the phone or emails in a timely manor, the work will go to someone else. Consider this... hire a admin to feild your calls, take messages, reply to emails, etc. And dont tell me its not in the budget... You make the budget, and your pricing. I did this for years..." Cant afford it..." But really you cant afford not to... It can be your partner, wife, daughter, stay at home mom... or little old lady down the block. It does not have to be full time, Can be for a few hours a day, while you work on the tools, getting the jobs done efficiently, and accurately. Time you dont have to answer phones, and email. Consider it... think of what it would do...you can adjust your overhead rate, to accommodate the cost...

How are people who are not ESA licensed contractors working with the when people want lights replaced etc. ? Context: Just bid a bathroom partial Reno unsuccessfully and I’m sure part of the reason was because I wasn’t able to replace an existing light with pot lights and relocate a fan. Part of the reason was probably I came in a little high. Are people subbing this out? Are you just getting it done without? I feel like it’s a lot of liability to just send it. I always explain to customers the ESA rules and why it’s a lot of liability for me to do it. But I feel like this is an obvious area for improvement in my business

I was like much of you that all the work myself was up in the office at five in the morning shut down seven 8 o’clock at night six days a week. This is all I knew. Recently, I hired an office staff and now she is worth her weight in gold in the sense that I don’t have to answer, phones, emails schedule, clients, etc. I have had several, but this one seems to be getting it and understanding the process. Having said this, if you don’t have an office staff even part-time and you’re burning the candle at both ends. It’s time to change the amount of stress that it removes from you is huge and allows you to focus on your jobs and the admin side of things that you should be paying attention to.
