📦 Let's Talk Storage! 📦 Every vendor seems to have their own system when it comes to storing supplies, stock, display pieces, packaging, tools and all the other bits and pieces that somehow come along with running a handmade business. 👉🏼Some people have dedicated craft rooms. 👉🏼Some have shelves, bins, and label makers working overtime. 👉🏼And some of us may or may not have supplies quietly taking over spare bedrooms, closets and corners of the house. 😅 So I'm curious... Poll: Where do you keep most of your craft business supplies? And once you've voted... Do you have a storage system that works really well? Any organisation tips, storage hacks or lessons learned you'd recommend to other vendors? Feel free to share photos too. I always enjoy seeing how different people organise their businesses. 👇 Vote in the poll, then tell us more in the comments! 📦✨

I’ve made a craft corner in our new apartment! I have a dedicated desk and a spot for my sewing machine and a bunch of very thin shelves for my paper and fresh lino to live in.

Here’s my craft corner! I’ve been occasionally shuffling stuff around to get it how I want it but overall Im very happy with it
Some of My Prints!
Here’s some of my work! I’ve got plans made for several more designs but I’m struggling with transfer methods. The lizard-y guys (champsosaurs) have now been cut into bookmarks, and I want to make printed pencil cases!

@Lisa Graham The grey is harder, so it’s easier to carve smaller details. The pink stuff is softer, which means it’s also a bit flimsier, and while it does come in thicker sheets to make this a little easier, I find that makes it a little harder to align and place down. (This is partially a me problem because most people place the paper onto the lino, but I place the lino onto the paper and then flip it over lol)

I could do that at some point, yeah! I know it’s good practice these days to make short videos for social media but I haven’t gotten around to trying it out

Some gorgeous new faces have joined us this week, so I wanted to take a hot minute to say a warm welcome. If you're new here, I’m really glad you found your way to The Craft Market Collective. This safe space was created for vendors and market hosts who want to learn, share ideas and make the whole craft market experience a little easier. You’ll find conversations, lessons in the classroom, and plenty of people who understand what market life is actually like. You don’t have to jump in right away. Feel free to look around, read a few posts or explore the classroom when you have time. And if you feel like introducing yourself, tell us: What do you make or sell at markets? Welcome. I’m so happy you’re here. L.

Hi, I’m a very new vendor, and I make linocut prints! I make a lot of paleoart (I’m a paleontology student at UofA) and generally art focused around nature, with a bit of queer art as well. I print on fabric and on paper, and I’m looking into potentially sewing my own zipper pouches to print on as well!

@Lisa Graham oh sure! Where is the brag book?
…electronic payment systems.
I’m going to be doing my first ever market and it’s outdoors. There is no wifi. Is it truly reliable to use the data on my phone? It’s only 4 hours and part of a community Canada Day event. Which system do you prefer (square, PayPal, etc)? Any tricky things? Do people still want receipts printed? Any pro tips - (let’s assume the battery is fully charged - lol!) The wisdom of the group would be appreciated!!

Thank you for asking this, I was wondering if Square is actually the Best Option, or if they just have good branding and that’s why I see them so often!

I’m a linocut artist, a UAlberta student, and very new to all this! Hoping to learn about good markets and get some pointers :)
