@Zach Thomas this is my ideal scenario . I haven’t had the courage to make the jump yet . Was this over a couple weeks, months, years? How was your wife’s reaction especially with the kids? We aren’t an iPad family but do watch tv parts of the day especially for the kids. Would love your thoughts.

Being hard on your kids and or having responsibilities
I know my kids are “older” than what I’ve seen on here. But I do have kids aging from 10-4. But what do you guys do to make your kids have responsibilities? I know some people don’t make their kids do chores and some do? How strict are you with your kids? I’ve been told that I’m hard on my kids and i expect a lot from them. Not that it’s a bad thing. But I also know when I’m not around my kids, they are well behaved. Just curious on what everyone’s household is like.

Yeah, I think there is definitely a healthy balance. Just enough so that they understand what responsibility is but also have the enjoyment of being a kid. My biggest fear is being too strict so that they have resentment towards me later on. I don’t want them to look at me as a tyrant but as a father that faces them tools to succeed in life and have healthy relationships. It’s a tuff balance. I try to be aware of how they act around me as a gauge.
