The Art of Noticing (Day 1: Conduct a Scavenger Hunt)
šƒš€š˜ 1 š‚š‡š€š‹š‹š„šš†š„: š‚šŽššƒš”š‚š“ š€ š’š‚š€š•š„šš†š„š‘ š‡š”šš“ Most of us move through our days on autopilot, noticing only what's familiar or immediately relevant. This scavenger hunt is designed to interrupt that pattern. By intentionally searching for specific objects, colors, shapes, textures, or experiences, you'll train your attention to pick up details that would normally go unnoticed. So...pick a goal and tell us what you've found! Super plus if you can take a picture! Some examples: - Something yellow - A heart shape - A reflection - Something older than you - Something handmade - A plant growing in an unexpected place - Observation-Focused - Evidence that a human was here - Evidence that an animal was here - Something that has changed over time - A pattern that repeats - Something you have passed by many times but never really noticed - Creative - Something that looks like a face - Something that reminds you of your childhood - Something that symbolizes hope - Something that represents resilience - Something beautiful that most people would overlook - An object that could inspire a story - Something that seems out of place - A "hidden treasure" in an ordinary setting - People & Community - An act of kindness - Evidence of creativity - Something that tells a story about your community - A sign of hard work - Something that makes you smile What were you on the lookout for today and what did you notice? Thanks to @Steve Webb and his group 30daychallengers for introducing me to the book The Art of Noticing. His community offers one live 30-day challenge every month. It provides a space where we can turn good intentions into action and each day there is a daily prompt/action related to the month's challenge. This month's challenge is 30 days of sunlight, movement, and remembering what the real world feels like. There's access to previous challenges as well and the community is great about support!

@Georgiana D I stopped and watched the rain. The splashing on the ground, the dripping of the droplets of rain from leaves, the patterns as it fell. It was beautiful to slow down. Have you noticed anything new/different yourself?
Two upcoming opportunities, one of them tonight!

šŸ“– Advance Readers Wanted (and a Little Book News…)
A little bit of exciting news… For the past few years, I’ve been quietly working away on a book. It’s called Focus Without Force: A Nervous System Approach to Attention, Overwhelm and Change. What began as notes, ideas and observations gradually grew into something much bigger. The book explores why so many of us struggle with focus, procrastination, overwhelm and motivation—not because we’re lazy or lacking willpower, but because there is often far more going on beneath the surface than we realise. Drawing on both professional and lived experience, it offers a compassionate alternative to the ā€œjust try harderā€ approach that so many people have heard their entire lives. The manuscript is now complete and I’m beginning to gather a small group of advance readers. I’m looking for people who would be willing to read an advance copy, share honest feedback and, if they enjoy the book, consider leaving a review when it is published. You don’t need to be an expert. I’m particularly interested in hearing from thoughtful readers who are interested in attention, overwhelm, emotional wellbeing, personal growth, or simply understanding themselves and others a little better. If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, please comment below or send me a message. And if you’d simply like to be among the first to hear when the book is released, you can join the waiting list here: https://www.thriveadhdcoaching.uk/books/ Writing a book can feel like a very solitary journey at times, so sharing this feels both exciting and slightly nerve-wracking. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me along the way. Your support has meant more than you know. Janine

Truth has consequences. So do lies/hiddenness/omission/self denial
This is part of a real life journal entry from this past week. A small glimpse (but not the full picture) of part of my thinking world. Good times. ha! But here are some questions for YOU: What's something that you held back on or postponed due to not wanting to face the truth earlier on? What were the factors at play and what were the effects? Is there something you're holding back on now? AND Have you ever faced a difficult truth that ultimately improved your life once you accepted it? _______ part of entry_____________ "There is nothing covered that shall not be revealed and nothing hidden that shall not be known". "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." We hide because we're ashamed, because we're afraid of consequences, because we're afraid of how others may react, because we're afraid of loss, because we're afraid we'll finally have to face ourselves and own our own desires and wants and needs and so we end up sitting in darkness feeling lost, feeling the weight of our own prison. We fear that the thing that we're hiding about ourselves says something irredeemable and puts us in a less than perfect light or a less than expected light. We fear that exposure would lead to such drastic change that we won't know how to handle it. But the reality is that the truth exists, whether we hide it or not. We just end up complicating it more-ensnaring it in chains of our own doing without giving it room to actually breathe. To actually breathe...Breathe. When it has breathing room it can be looked at for what it is and we can also get curious about what's underlying it. We often only take a look at the lie or the undesired behavior and are so ashamed by it that we try to shut it down...but underneath that there can be something that's making it grow further (be there to begin with). If we're wasting so much energy on keeping things hidden from ourselves and others, we're denying ourselves the opportunity to see what's really there and that's denying our potential for growth, our potential for healing, our potential for real life transformation. Buying into our own bullshit. Ain't that some bullshit? Lord help us all. But me especially. Obvs.

This really resonated with me. One of the reasons I’m so passionate about journalling is that it gives us a private, non-judgemental space to explore the things we’d often rather avoid. Sometimes a single question on a page can help us uncover a truth we’ve been circling around for months or even years. For anyone who finds this topic interesting, I’ve put together a collection of free journalling prompts designed to encourage gentle reflection and self-discovery. You’re very welcome to download them here: https://www.thriveadhdcoaching.uk/journalling-circle/ The part about giving things ā€œbreathing roomā€ particularly stood out to me. I think many of us spend so much energy pushing difficult thoughts, feelings or truths away that we never get the chance to understand what’s really underneath them. What I’ve learned, both personally and through working with others, is that awareness is often where change begins. Not judgement. Not pressure. Just the willingness to gently look at what’s there. Thank you for sharing such an honest and thought-provoking reflection.
You Might Not Be Burnt Out… Just Emotionally Full
Lately, I’ve been noticing how many people are carrying so much internally while still trying to ā€œkeep goingā€ on the outside. Constant thinking.Mental overload.Pressure.Trying to hold everything together. Sometimes what we actually need isn’t more advice or more productivity tools. We need somewhere that feels quieter.Softer.More human. That’s honestly why I created the Thrive Journalling Circle šŸ¤ It’s a gentle, low-pressure daily journalling space designed to help people reconnect with themselves without overwhelm or pressure to ā€œdo it properly.ā€ One thoughtful prompt a day.A quiet WhatsApp space. No pressure to share. No falling behind. No constant noise. Just a small moment to pause, reflect, breathe, and come back to yourself again. I run Thrive ADHD Coaching and was recently named ADHD & Emotional Wellbeing Coaching Enterprise of the Year 2026, but truthfully… this space was created from a much more personal place. Because I know how easy it is to lose yourself in stress, responsibility, and constantly being ā€œon.ā€ If your nervous system has been needing something gentler lately, you’d be so welcome there šŸ¤ šŸ“– https://www.thriveadhdcoaching.uk/journalling-circle/

Thank you so much šŸ¤ The prompts are designed to feel gentle, grounding, and emotionally supportive rather than overwhelming or ā€œsomething else to keep up with.ā€ They’re small moments to pause in the middle of busy minds and busy lives. For example, a prompt might be: šŸ“– What have you been carrying quietly lately that nobody else can really see? Or: šŸ“– What would feeling a little softer with yourself look like this week? There’s no pressure to write perfectly. No pressure to share. No pressure to ā€œdo it right.ā€ Some people write a sentence. Some fill pages. Some simply read the prompt and sit with it quietly for a moment while having their morning coffee. The space itself is intentionally very calm and low-pressure too. It’s a quiet WhatsApp space where only I post as the host, so there’s no constant stream of messages, pressure to interact, or overwhelming notifications. Just one thoughtful prompt each day arriving gently into your space. What’s been really lovely is hearing how supported people feel by having somewhere that asks nothing from them except a small moment of honesty with themselves. A lot of people spend their lives holding everything together externally while feeling emotionally overloaded internally. This space was created to feel like a gentle exhale from that šŸ¤ If your nervous system has been craving something quieter, softer, and more human lately, you’d be so welcome there. šŸ“– Thrive Journalling Circle
