🌾 Welcome to the table. - START HERE
Hey, I'm Gwen. Come have a seat!🌻 You're here because you're already capable. You know your way around a kitchen. You've been feeding people you love for years, and probably feeding them well. You might not have a system that's working optimally for your body in midlife. That's it. That's the gap. This is a kitchen-first community for midlife women who want more nourishment, more strength, and more capacity for the life they're already building. Not another set of rules. Not one more thing to perfect. We learn real food together. 🥖 Fresh milled baking, sourdough, broths, real rhythms in the kitchen. We learn to fuel our bodies well. 💪 Protein, strength, energy that actually holds through your day. And we do it without extremes, without perfectionism, and without pretending any of this has to look a certain way to count. You don't need fixing. You need simpler systems. That's what we're building here, together. 🌼 Ready to jump in? ☑️ Introduce yourself below. Tell us what you're building, in the kitchen or in life. ☑️ Say hello to someone. Connection is part of the nourishment here. ☑️ Tell us one thing you're excited to learn. We want to know what brought you here. Welcome to the table. 🌾

Hi, I'm Janice from Southern California. Growing up i kind of naturally had an interest in cooking. It was more savory cooking with some baking. I didn't really understand making bread or other foods from scratch as much until like this past few yrs. I found this group by just searching in the website. I'm interested in continuing to learn to make foods from scratch i might buy at the store and also work on moving my body since I haven't really lost my pregnancy weight from my second child born in 2024.

@Gwen Roach thank you and no worries. I've tried to make sourdough bread (semi successful), simply broths, and am interested in getting better at meal planning and having a good cooking rhythm.
I'm curious - What day do you Meal Plan?
What day do you think ahead about your meals? What day do you grocery shop? What day to you get ahead on some prep (if at all)? I'm not necessarily referring to an intense planning session or big meal prep day (unless that's your thing). Mostly wondering if you have a rhythm around when and how you get food ready for the week.
I'm curious - What day do you Meal Plan?

I usually try to meal plan on Sunday and do a grocery run on Monday. And also do a larger grocery run on Friday or Saturday to Costco for items more cost effective to buy in larger quantity.

Love the words you wrote, "building strength and fueling longevity". It recognizes that every woman is at a different place in her health journey and the food they consume goes hand in hand with movement with the goal of creating strength.
