Hi everyone I'm an artist based in Brisbane and am a new Studio on Brunswick Affiliate. My creative journey actually began in fashion. I won a summer scholarship to the Whitehouse School of Fashion when I was 14, later studied fashion and textile design, and worked as a pattern maker before spending 12 years homeschooling my kids and finding my way back to art. My work is inspired by nature, emotion and the feminine form, and I'm currently focused on building a sustainable art practice while continuing to develop my own artistic voice. Along the way I've been fortunate to be a finalist in the Australian Watercolour Muster and Fabriano in Italy, and have also entered the Archibald Prize and Brisbane Portrait Prize. Outside of painting, I'm a trained health coach and host The Trailblazer's Palette podcast, where I've had the privilege of interviewing artists from around the world and making some beautiful friendships. I grew up on a dairy farm in rural NSW, and the peace I find in nature still inspires so much of what I create today. I'm looking forward to connecting with other artists, continuing to learn, and being part of a community that understands the ups and downs of a creative life.😊

I am a South African-born ceramic artist living in Brisbane. I immigrated as a teenager with my family (a long time ago!) and finished growing up in Airlie Beach. I studied graphic design when I finished school and spent three decades working in the field before discovering ceramics in 2020. I found an affinity for clay and a love for the ceramic process and now I work from my home studio in Camp Hill where I create hand-built sculptural ceramic forms that draw on my love of the natural world and reflect my commitment to craftsmanship and the transformative power of art. I am excited to be here and am looking forward to learning new things, getting to know you all and planning, making and preparing for a solo show in the Emergent Gallery in May next year.
